Need High Treadlife 245/40R18 tires
Greetings,
Its time for me to replace the tires on my '07 E550 4Matic, and as I drive many miles a year
I'm looking for the best-wearing, H or V rated, Spring-through-Fall 245/40R18 tires I can find.
So far, I've only found Continental's ContiProContact with any type of treadlife warranty. Are there any others worth considering?![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Thanks for your suggestions!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Greetings,
I decided to try Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions from Tire Rack. They too have a 40K mileage warranty, and a $75 rebate, along with great survey results from owners:

After you've installed and driven these tires a while, please let us know how you like them. I use the same size tires on my E500 and will be in the market for new tires in a couple months and I'm looking for a good quiet tire........of course some tires don't become noisy until after the first year of use like my previous Pirelli's were quiet for the first 9 months or so and then became pretty noisy.

I have staggered 19" Bridgestone RE960AS's on my '05 4-matic with about 8,000 miles on them so far... They are decent in snow, not fantastic, but decent, grip well on dry/wet roads, ride fairly harsh on 19's and lowered, and susceptible to blowouts when run low on air pressure for a short period of time... I had a wheel that was defective and wouldn't hold air at the valve stem and blew out 2 tires and ruined a 3rd while trying to figure out WTF was going on... In all fairness, probably not fair to blame the tire for any of that... Treadlife has been good on the rears but the fronts wore fast when misaligned for a week after lowering... After alignment, wearing fine now, so again, probably not fair to blame the tire... They are pretty quiet but do flat spot when cold which is interesting since they are radials... It usually takes a few miles for them to warm up and the flat spots to smooth out...

depends on the weather
The Continental Pro Contact which is OE on the 2008 Hag Stype 4.2 and the 2009 Audi A6 has a 60,000 mile warranty as does the Kumho LX platinum, but I would prefer the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity even though it only has a 45,000 tread wear warranty.

I put the General tires on my old Lexus IS300. They lasted and drove better than more expensive tires. I am planning to put them on my 2007 E550 when the time comes. Hope they make those sizes.
