Hey All,

I'm kind of in a pinch. You may have seen my post a few weeks back in the CLK forum that i had to have my engine replaced.

$15k+ later, the car's going to be done sooner than i thought and it needs tires and with two of them being flat, i need em now.

I don't know what size my rims are, but they are 5 spoke and say amg on them. 2005 clk500.

Whats the widest tires i can put on whether their 17"s, 18"s, or 19"s?

I assumed i have 17"s as the car doesn't have a ton of options and was looking at 245/40R17"s for the front but couldn't find any resources on the backs.

I don't care about road noise or treadware or whatnot. Just sticking the largest tire i can on the stock rims without doing any rolling or orther mods.

If someone could post the maximum sizes for the 3 rim sizes it could be, i can check back here in the morning and order them from tirerack.

Thanks Guys,

Mike

Update
I found out i have the stock 17" wheels. I want to order the tires today, but i was told by someone at tirerack.com that i can't go any larger than stock or i'll have rubbing issues.

Could someone please confirm the sizes they have fit on without rubbing?

Are they flats in the front or rears? 245 are rear tires and if you are looking for fronts then it would be 225.

I don't know what you mean by flats. I know the stock fronts are 225 and rears are 245. I thought i could do 245 in front and 265 or 275 in the rear.

I guess thats only if i had aftermarket wider rims. I have to order them now and i'm going to get some ultra performance all seasons for now.

Maybe i'll get a different set of rims with summer tires next season.

Front 225. rears could go 255. that's a safe bet. Mike
