Fuel Consumption Question - Rims - Please look

Hi, I have a question which I wonder any one with experience could help answer.

If .. IF I have 2 choices of Wheel Rims ..

1) A 15 inch rim that is heavy (8kg)
2) A 16 inch Rim that is light (6kg)

Which will have a higher fuel consumption? I know that it takes effort and of course more fuel to move a rim that is of bigger size ... but with its weight into effect ... will it be offset or even have better fuel consumption than the 15 inch one?

Thank you for this silly question.

depends on the weather
it's not the diameter of the wheel that will alter fuel consumption it is the weight .... providing your tires are the correct size

What do you mean by the tire size? What if the overall diameter of the tire increases? Will that cause fuel consumption to go up?

depends on the weather
the tire size refers to diameter ....

a taller tire would hurt acceleration and the corresponding gas milage but, once up to speed the RPM's needed to maintain a certain speed would be lower so It would probably even out ... and the exact opposite would be true with a shorter tire

get the 16". u should get the corresponding tire that'll keep ur overall 14" tire diameter. here's a tire size calculator for an example....plenty of these on the web
