Ride Comfort - Going from 18's to 19's

hi guys - I know this question is not as linear as I've titled it but just generally wondering what your experiences are. I'm thinking about going from my stock 18- 40s to 19's -35s. Do you think this switch will make my ride much more harsh? I'm in a big city so i'm always trying to avoid potholes and I want it to be livable/comfortable. Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks!

depends on the weather
every inch of diameter you go up or down expect a 10% -15% difference in ride firmness

Thanks Luke. As a practical guage, do you think that it will be real noticeable difference in harshness? Put in another way I guess what I'm really asking is, I know I likely will be able to feel the difference, but will my wife be able to tell?!

you will notice a difference but, 19's on an E63 are not bad at all

Hey luke - Just a follow up to this question/response. Does your 10-15% guideline still hold true if you maintain the aspect ratio of the tires. I have 35's on 18's right now and want to stick to 35's on 20's and I will be maintaining the same tire width. Will the firmness factor still increase by your factors or a bit less?

Thanks

It should not but keeping the same aspect ratio will increase your overall wheel diamiter and might have rubbing issues. Id say stick with 19's, it wont be that bad.
