PowerWheels Pro Style 818
I'm looking at getting a set of these http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/p...roducts_id=327 but am a rim newbie
I have reviewed the forums here and PWP appears to be well respected (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I'm looking at the 18x8.5 version, but have read a number of posts that recommend no larger than a 17" rim for the W203 (I have an '06 C280 4matic) -- but also see a number of people here with 18 & 19" rims. Is the ride comfort that big of a tradeoff from 17" to 18"?
Currently I'm running stock 16" rims (which I will continue to run with snow tires in the harsh winters we get).
Final question, I have seen tire size recommendations for an 18x8.5 range from 245/40-18 (from Cody at Tire Rack) to 235/40-18 or 225/40-18 (from Luke at Tire Rack on this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-ti...tire-size.html
That seems to be a pretty big width difference to me -- I want to make sure I don't rub on the front, will all three really work on my car? If so, is there any ride comfort advantages for a various width? (I'm up on the performance differences with wide vs narrower tires).
Thanks for the help,
dave

I'm not sure about the quality of the wheels so I cannot comment there. 18" is fine on the W203 and 18" by 8.5 with a et35 offset works perfect. 18" is not that large of a difference. On the C280 with 18" by 8.5, I would run a 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. You will get the best ride out of that setup!
