In need of some help

I have a little problem. Actually it is a wide problem. I bought a set of AMG 5 star rims that I was told would fit on a CLK. I have a 00 clk 320 I think the rims must be for another model of mercedes. Actually I am pretty sure. My question is can I get spacers or something for the tires like I always hear people talking about. I live in the DC metro area and it seems that no one knows what I am talking about. I thought I heard someone say they put a one inch spacer on their car but I am not sure can someone please advise. I have included pictures. The tires are 225/40-18x9 in the front and 255/35-18x9.5 in the rear. Is there anything that I can do to make these work or do I just need new rims.

Thanks

The rims rub on the inside of the tire wall.

The tires are fine, but because the offsets are wrong, thats why you have a rubbing problem.

I believe those are AMG Monoblock II wheels for the S-class. There should be a bunch of numbers engraved on the back of the wheel, can you tell me what is the part number and the offset? Its very strange that the front is 18x9 and the rear is 18x9.5!

If those are really S-class wheels (which I am pretty sure they are), I dont think they will fit EVEN if you add spacers because the S-class uses 14mm bolts. The CLK uses 12mm.

I looked on the back of the wheel but it is all in german. So I wrote down all the numbers that are back there. The back tires say ET46
91/2 Jx18H2
A2204 011902

A buddy of mine says he thought that they were from an E55 maybe an older model but I know I tried to buy the new E sport package rims and they told me they would not fit so I assumed that none of them would fit. I put them on and the lugs seem fine so I think maybe you are right It might be an S class rim.

Thanks for the info

Yes, those are S-class wheels. The first 3 numbers on your part number represent the model, "A220 ....." And yes, ET46 offsets, they are way off. CLK should use wheels with ET35-37 offset. Are all 4 wheels 9.5x18 then????

Well, your car's bolts are 12mm in diameter. Technically, if you use your car's bolts with those wheels and tighten them up, that can be done. But mind you, the holes on the wheels are supposed to be made for the 14mm bolts. I dont want to repeat what others have said, "scorchie" has a good explanation of why....look here: https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=41651
