WHERE'S THE SOLUTION?

I have read 3 pages of postings and I still don't see a conclusion to hint2's problem. I am curious, where is the 17X7.5 & 17X8.5 newer style Double Spoke in Bright Silver that he wants listed by Tire Rack for W203, W208, W209 W210 etc?

C32 Old Style Silver w/Machined lip:

CLK55 New Style Bright Silver:

Since TR made a mistake (which happens) why didn't they just send him the correct wheels? Where are 17" Double Spokes in Bright Silver which are listed as in stock?

KEV,

This is exactly what I wished -- just send me the wheels I want. But Tirerack said AMG doesn't make 17" new double spoke. hartonmotorwerks and statusimports are selling them. I don't know why. And why they don't fix their website? People will be confused again. I think Luke doesn't read this thread anymore, but that's ok. I hope Harris can give me a good price. This is my first time to order something from Tirerack, and it's such a mess.

For what it's worth Luke, has been out all week. His wife just gave birth. I just spoke with Clancy and ordered some tires for my 99 E430. He filled me as to why Luke has not been returning phone calls.

Another update. Talked to different people including Harris from hartonmotorwerks.com and Autoclass.net. They all confirm AMG makes 17" new double spoke. I also saw the wheels on ebay. Sales rep from Tirerack said they talked to their "AMG Expert" and the expert simply said AMG don't make 17" new double spoke. I think the sales rep and the "Expert" were not trying hard. And I don't know why, if AMG don't make that 17" they should fix their website. The tirerack website still showing I can buy 17" new double spoke! If you want to buy some AMG wheels, you should try other places like hartonmotorwerks or Autoclass. I'm not advertising them. I just don't want more people get pissed. You just can't rely on Tirerack's "AMG expert".

hint2, your story is really amazing. How can someone at Tire Rack keep denying the existance of these wheels and why would they not try to correct their mistakes. If this helps here are the AMG and Mercedes stock numbers for the AMG Double Spoke Styling IV 1 piece in Brilliant Silver (aka Sterling Silver):

17X7.5 - B6 603 1302
17X8.5 - B6 603 1303

Hint 2

Frustrating to read of your hassles with wheel "experts". I don't know what it is like where you are, but I got great service from my MB dealer in Australia when I went to upgrade my C32 wheels from the standard. Showed me a classy AMG wheel brochure from which I selected the one piece 18" AMG double spoke - easy. The only hard part was waiting several weeks for them to arrive from Germany.

As the new CLK 55 has the 17" double spoke that you want as standard equipment (in USA and Australia - Europe gets 18"), can you order from your dealer's parts department? If you do go to a third party, Harris seems the most knowledgable guy on this topic.

Here a pic of the 18" on my C32 anyway.

Thanks Stephens - I'll look out for your E55 when I'm in Melbourne. Shouldn't be hard to spot on those pretty Brabus rims!

Hey Stephens, have you got those Brabus wheels mounted and rolling yet? Like to see the pics. Which tire and tire size combo did you settle on? Thanks.

That is freakin AWESOME!

Stephens, your E55 is now my favorite. Love the new look and the upgraded tire size as well. Congrats

I know this may have been covered in that heated E55 post. But what are the Brabus wheel offsets. Thanks.

When I get a W211 E55 I am going with the same sizes. I still like the older Brabus Mono V Multi wheels.

Offset is 29mm front 35mm rear.
Heated? Just an exchange of opinions. The good news is that Kanemans tyres do fit, although he does say that the rears protrude beyond the guard, so may rub if the car is lowered (or hit some reasonable size bumps)
