C32 AMG
18" wheel weights and size.

I'm thinking to upgrade to 18" wheels from the 17" that will come with my C32 AMG. What would be the best tire size to go with?

Also, I want to minimize unsprung weight if possible. Where can I find information on the weight of stock wheels versus that of aftermarket or other AMG wheels.

If you dont want to do any bodywork modifications to your car, then the best tire combination for staggered is 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. If you dont want staggered, then it'll be 235/40/18.

Agree Wheelexperts.com?

Wheel and tire weight

Here are some weight data for E55 fitment (just for comparison)

18" AMG monoblock 18x8 ET31 27.5lb (cast)
18" AMG monoblock 18x9 ET35 28.6lb

18" OZ Superleggera 18x8 18lb
18" OZ Superleggera 18x9 19lb

18" Renntech 18x8.5 20.8lb (cold forged)
18" Renntech 18x9.5 21.2lb

18" Fikse FM5 18x8.5 22lb (forged center)
18" Fikse FM5 18x9.5 23lb

18" SSR Intergral 18x8 19lb (semi-solid forged)
18" SSR Intergral 18x9 20lb

I do not put in Brabus or Lorinser weight since your aim is to lower unsprung weight. Brabus and Lorinser would be heavier than the AMG wheels (low 30s lb)

Tire size 245/40-18:
Michelin Pilot Sport 25.0lb
Bridgestone S-03 27.5lb
Toyo T1-S 24.0
Dunlop SP9000 26.5
Yokohama AVS db 25.1
Yokohama AVS Sport 25.3

Tire size 275/35-18:
Michelin Pilot Sport 27.0lb
Bridgestone S-03 29.0lb
Toyo T1-S 25.6
Dunlop SP9000 27.1
Yokohama AVS db 27.3
Yokohama AVS Sport 28.0

You can see that S03s are relatively heavy tires

Hope this info help

Hello,

Like JustinTRW I'm going to upgrade my C32 wheels to 18's. Does anyone have weight data on the Brabus Monoblock VI 2-piece. I'm considering:
8.5 x 18 Front
9.5 x 18 Rear

Will the new wheels influence the performance of my vehicle? If so, how? Thanks is advance guys!

Tomaso.

19" weighs about 32lbs each. I would assume 18" will be 2-3 lbs less? It will, obviously, slow your car down a bit during acceleration, but I think the C32 power can overcome that!!
