I'll post pics on W208 forum when I take them tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone for your help.
Can't wait to see the pics... did you rechrome your wheels yet?

Actually it was just one rim that would have needed to be rechromed because it looked like it had a dent in the lip. So after repairing it it would have need to be rechromed. Thanks to my boyfriend he managed to bang out the dent with some special hammer. The chrome didn't crack or peel at all so we installed the rim anyway. I didn't mind since you really have to be up close to notice it.

What I'm going to do is try to find just one rim for sale and buy it. Then I can replace the rim and send this one out to California to be repaired. I'll just have a fifth wheel as a spare then.

For some reason I can't find someone in New York that can rechrome. Anyone know of a good repair and rechroming shop in California that I can send the rim too?

Eleni, those wheels look hot... i wanted monoblocks too, but my girl thought they were too bulky, so I settled for the CL wheels...

3 things though....
1.) you needa lower your car, at least a little
2.) don't forget to get wheel locks (i speak from experience, though I have yet to get a set for my 19s either)
3.) is that a 3-series in the garage?? another new ride for ya?

Eleni, hot wheels!
Let us know if they rub when you lower the car.
I am running 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 and I thought they best approximated the original rolling diameter.

I get rubbing on the flexible inner fender wall only on the right rear! Thinking of getting a spacer to move the wheels out by 3mm and hopefully eliminate the rubbing.

I think 235/40 and 265/35 is a bit taller but I don't know if they will affect anything. Hell, I would love to have faaat tyres.

Thanks mmgrad. Yeah I am considering lowering the car but my next project is getting the lorinser roof spoiler. When that is all said and done I will consider lowering it.

I haven't thought about the wheel locks but I guess it is a good idea considering I live in New York.

Actually the 3 series is my friends moms car. No offense to the 3 series but if I were ever to consider getting another BMW it would have to be an 850csi or an m3 or m5.

Thanks heeman. Well no rubbing yet but I guess it's because my car isn't lowered. I am considering lowering it but for some reason the thought scares the heck out of me. It looks like I could go about an inch without any problems.

At first my boyfriend was against it because both the 850 and 500sec we have are lowered. The sec is fine but the 850 rubs. Now that he sees the car with the rims he said I should consider it. I know it will look hot but I just get nervous about the rubbing.

Can anyone tell me how bad the rubbing could be to my car, my tires and my wheels?

Eleni, you shouldn't have any rubbing problems if the offsets are good. My last set of 18s had +35 offset Front/+38 offset Rear running 235/40 Front & 265/35 Rear & lowered 2"... didn't have any problems whatsoever... no rubs on inside or outside, no problems making turns, just PERFECT....

Sounds good. Can I control how much my car is lowered. I guess it depends on which kit I get ? I'm not sure if I want to go 2 inches. My front spoiler is already cracked a bit from the previous owner. I don't want to make it worse.

the average suspension kit will lower your car between 1.2 to 1.5 inches... you can make it more extreme by getting stuff like the H&R Cup Kit, and/or swapping out to the thinnest spring pads... that will lower it another .5" or more.

My brabus kit, I believe was suppose to lower the car either 1.2 or 1.5", but I swapped out my factory pads for 1 Dot pads all around and the total drop came to 2" on all 4 corners...

As far as preventing cracks, just don't pull all the way to those concrete parking stops... i've cracked my bumper the same way... its not a pleasant sound... yet, i still haven't learned my lesson... sigh
