Polish out myself? Am I crazy?
I've been trying to find someone to strip & polish my C7's for a while now. Finally found someone, and they want $270 per wheel, and 2 weeks! Uh. No.
So I'm thinking about doing it myself using wet/dry paper, buffing wheels for a cordless drill, dremel for the tight spots, rouge, etc. I do have some experience buffing & polishing metal (restoring antique slot machines), but it's a little different to do four wheels. After that first swipe of sandpaper, you're committed!
Has anyone tried this themselves? I can't think it would be that hard, just take a while. I figure I could strip them all at the same time, do the first polish all at the same time, next step all at once, etc. That way they woudn't look like total crap (one perfectly polished, 3 in different stages).
