strut removal
OTMAL, what you need to do is first dont worry, the plate up top of the strut tower is a catch bar so it wont fall out in extreme conditions, remove the nut in the channel bar, its a 21mm, pull plate off shaft, now the strut will drop out, upon removal you will find a spring retaining cap at top of strut with a threaded shaft sticking out(the same threaded shaft that top nut was on) recessed into the spring retaining plate is a spanner nut(a ring with two notches opposite each other and threaded in the miidle portion)now you compress the spring and relieve tension on spring plate, secure spanner nut and put a allen wrench in top of shaft and spin shaft while holding spanner nut secure,( instead of spinning nut hold nut and spin shaft) dont damage nut because it will need to be used again with whatever suspension kit you use. my Bilstein PSS9 kit requied it to be re-used along with the retaining plate
