Color Calipers on my '07 CLK

My body shop refuses to paint my calipers as they say they are ceramic and as they heat up the paint will come off. I don't like covers. Are there actualy calipers that come in colors?

They make an epoxy based kit specifically for calipers that resist heat and brake fluid which will destroy normal car paint. You can DIY or have them do it, I think it's called a G6 kit available on amazon or even locally at wal-mart or any auto parts store. Changing out your brake system is expensive. You may also want to consider your calipers may not be the full type as in a big brake kit since you have a 350, it may be the simpler open type where you can see the back of the brake pad and those don't have the same look as the closed type which sounds like what you're after perhaps. They probably also mean your PADS are ceramic not your calipers FYI- and painting the back of the textured brake pads with the open calipers looks awful anyway IMO (plus when you change pads the color is gone too).

You can choose to paint them, but you have to disassemble all the seals and properly mask off areas like the caliper mounting holes, piston bore, etc. You can color both Mono-blocks or regular calipers, again masking properly is key.

Most folks go with powder coating for a more durable finish. It resists wear better than paint however both will need to be refinish after long usage. Anodized or nickle plating is the most durable.

I would take your caliper to another paint shop, if one won't do then the other one will.
