Tire cannot be repaired?
I got a nail on my SL500 and I was told that since the tire is z-rated, it can't be repaired? I thought only run-flats can't be repaired.
My dealer told me I have to replace the tire which cost $230 + balancing + install. I only have 2500 miles on the tire!

It depends on where the nail is. If its right in the middle, it CAN be repaired. But if its close to the sidewall or at the sidewall, then it cannot be repaired. But why do you get the dealer to repair the tire? Just go to any tire shop.

I was at the dealer for a different issue but thought to ask about the nail in my tire. When I get my car back, I am planning to take it to STS or Goodyear or one of those tire places.
