2nd CALL for LUKE: Best Tire re LIFE??
Luke:
If on my front tires Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45/17 the tire life is 15,000 miles.
1. What would it be - under same driving conditions/habits - for the Bridgestone
Potenza S-03 your #1 recommendation?
2. Which Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli or other tire would provide at least 30,000 miles of tire life
based on my intro?

depends on the weather
the S-03 would probably net anout 20k miles and the P-Zero Rosso would be about the same. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S would be the best tire for you if you want that much mileage

The Michelin Pilot Sport is only giving me 15,000 miles on the front tires on the CLK55 AMG.
About 20,000 for the rear tires, which are also Pilot Sport.
Would the Potenza S-03s provide more or less miles per tire, considering same car, same driver and hot S. Florida?

The front tires are showing pre-mature wear, because I followed the suggested inflation pressure posted on the gas filler door: 33lbs all around!
That's okay for the rear tires, - they show even wear.
However the front tires @ 33lbs are underinflated, - consequently both front tires show pre-mature wear - evenly - on the inside and outside. The front tires show minimal wear in the center of the crown. A sign of an obviously underinflated tire.

Pilot Sport vs. Pilot Sport A/S
I'm assuming by Luke's response is that the newer A/S model of the Michelin Pilot Sport has a longer life expectancy. Maybe Luke can confirm this.
Re: fronts wearing more on outside, that's really interesting because in Tirerack's brochure that they ship with orders, I was a bit confused because their recommendation for front engine rear drive vehicles was more pressure (about +3-4 PSI) for the fronts vs. the rears. This is contrary to what we see on our gas filler doors. I followed their advise and am using 42PSI front and 40PSI rear on my 19s. By your experience, I guess the Tirerack folks know what they're talking about...

Tyre Wear Michelin
I have AMG rims on my W203 C class with Michelin Pilot SX tyres they have 20,000km on them. I found the 29psi recomended by the AMG sticker on the door pillar caused excessive wear on the front tyres. I have been running the front at 32psi for the last 10,000km and have found I have been getting a lot better tyre wear.
I have been running 32psi in the rears and these are wearing a lot faster than the front. What should the rear tyre pressure be, less or more than the front.

To compensate for the edge wear of the front tires, the Pilot Sports, which I noticed after 10,000 miles, I am adding 5 lbs. which means front @ 38 lbs.
This will hopefully reduce the near no-wear crown!
The rear tires I am inflating to 35 lbs. They are waring perfectly even.

depends on the weather
you could use those tire sizes but there would be no benefit. Actually you would find that when cornering you would have more sidewall roll so, less handling ability. I wouldn't do it.
