I ordered MB Original rim locks with my EQE SUV. I know this doesn't make my wheels 100% theft-proof, but I am of the opinion that they can only help reduce the probability of theft.
My conundrum is what to do with the socket key. I have been carrying it in the cargo area in my car, but find myself wondering if that negates the security the locks provide. Do thieves typically break in a car and look around for a socket/key?
I could leave the socket/key home, but then if I'm on a trip somewhere and get a flat, I worry that I could be faced with not being able to change/fix the tire unless the shop happens to be a Mercedes dealer.
What are you doing? I would appreciate people's thoughts on this.

Put it in the glovebox and lock the key there.Originally Posted by ScottC2

Or... you could probably get this and then put the key on your keychain. https://us.rimgard.com/

Thank you. Would you believe the gloveboxes in the EQE’s are not lockable!?!Originally Posted by W205C43PFL

um.... I never knew that. Or is there a setting in the infotainment? Maybe perhaps there is a valet mode that has that setting? Originally Posted by ScottC2

No. Just plain ol’ cheap construction. Not even an option.Originally Posted by W205C43PFL

If I were a rim thief, I would look for rims without locks. The rims with locks would be too much of a time bandit, cutting into my getaway time. I would hope the real thieves had the same mindset.

Come to think of it, I did remember someone mentioning this, shame MB got rid of that: https://mbworld.org/forums/eqs-suv/8...glove-box.htmlOriginally Posted by ScottC2
