Dropping AIRMatic to bumps stops to get in garage

Hi all,

I need to get into my garage with a roof pod on my X166 GLS63.

This is something I might do one or two nights a year and not regular. But is there a way to drop the GLS airmatic on bump stops on purpose ?

yes can pull the compressor fuse in the engine bay, but is there a way to dump the suspension pressure ?

Thanks

Steve

There’s no official way to manually drop the GLS63’s Airmatic to the bump stops, but you can use a diagnostic tool like Star Diagnostic or iCarsoft MB II to deflate the suspension temporarily. Alternatively, releasing air manually from the air valves might work but should be done with caution to avoid system damage. Pulling the compressor fuse prevents re-inflation but won’t lower the vehicle on its own. If unsure, consult a professional for assistance.

Lowering the suspension as low as you are discussing will significantly limit your ability to turn the front wheels as they will come in contact with the inside of the front fenders and damage the fenders and possibly the tires.
