airmatic's troubles

so just starting down the path of troubleshooting a airmatic issue, previously converted a e55 to non airmatic was ok but wasn't as good as the airmatics. But now I have a 2012 cls550 and it's starting to have the problem but wanting to stick with airmatics, oh boy they are not cheap like $1900 plus per each. My only issue is one side of the car is having issues, and it's very random sometimes the car maintains the correct height for a day or two or can drop in an hour. If I lift the car by the button in the car it lifts and stays lifted. So would think that air struts would be good, right? thanks for any replys

That random drop on one side is a classic air leak. Since it holds height when you manually lift it, the strut itself is probably okay.
The leak is most likely in the air lines or the valve block. Check the plastic air lines that run to that corner, especially where they connect. A tiny crack will cause exactly what you're describing.

thanks for the reply, yea pretty sure I need to find the leak external to the struts.
