Best suspension setup for E430 w/ 19" rims?

What would be the best suspension setup to use for an E430 with 19" rims? I'm talking springs and shocks

I want the least harsh ride possible. I know it will be harsh already with 19" rims though.

I was looking at the Carlsson suspension kit, but that seemed a bit much.

I think the ride height I'm looking for is the same one that Vic55 has on his E55.

the best ride would probably be eibach springs, bilstein shocks, and #1 or #2 pads on your car. That should put it at Vic55's ride height. The Eibach springs ride much better than the H&R's, but then again, they're not as low.

My car actually looks lower that the pic you posted. That was my car before I added the Bilstein Sports which are shorter than the factory shocks. The fenders are right on the tires, maybe 1/2 an inch or less.

that's the same setup I have on my car, Vic...I would have recommended it to him but he wanted the best ride.

Your are 100% correct Lee. Are the Eibach's really that much softer than the H&R's?? I really enjoy the firm ride- hate the slush.

vic, the eibachs are softer, but they are still firm. They must have a slightly lower spring rate. They go a little softer on bumps in the road. It is a noticable difference in comfort, but not in handling. It's just that the eibach is a little higher, but perfect for the wife's car

I know what you mean with the Wife car comment. Are you sure you don't think those 19x9.5's (Brabus Mono V's) wont fit your front. Arent the wheel wells the same on the CLK 208's and the E W210's as well as the brake and A-arm setup??

I was also considering the Euro E55 suspension kit. I think Mr. Vanos mentioned that it was a better setup for daily driving.

I think if the price is right, I may go for the Euro E55 setup.

I looked into the Euro Amg setup too but the price was too high and it doesn't drop the car as much as the H&R setup- there is still too much gap at the fender line.

the euro setup is definitely too high IMHO.

btw vic, I was told that a 9.5" wheel would contact the frame components in the front. in looking at both cars, i would have to say that the clk has much less depth in the fenderwell. plus, that wheel might stick out of the fender a tad, a look that I just don't want. However, if i were in the market for new rims for the E-class, then....

Vic55, what was the price difference between the Euro AMG setup and the H&R/Bilstein setup?

If i were to drop my car i would probably go with the H&R springs with Bilstein Shocks too like Vic. The firm ride imo is better specially when you're cornering at 90mph!

I am also using H&R with Bilsteins.

t-bone: if you want the E55 suspension, there is a guy in Temecula selling his set. check out the "classifieds" on benzsport.com

H&R/Koni...

I have H&R/Koni on my E55- much more functional for my taste than the Bilsteins. The Koni's are 3-way adjustable for dampning and rebound from soft-medium-firm. The Euro E55 suspension is too expensive for what you get- definitely not worth the price.

The Euro E55 suspension is not that expensive, you can have mine for just $900. That's for springs, shocks & front and rear sway bars. Check it out on Benzsport.com .
