19x8 iForged Aeros with new Goodyear F1, Needs TLC, $1000.00
Here's the story behind them. I bought these about a year and a half ago in anticipation of my original tires going bald. They were in pretty bad shape when I got them. All four wheels were bent on the inside rim, and the lips were rashed, clearcoat peeling etc. I took them down to a reputable wheel shop in So Cal, and had them fix the bent rims, repolish the lip and powder coat the entire wheel clear.
They did a great job on the lips, but screwed up on the clear coat, and I'm not sure if they fixed the bent entirely. You can see from the photos below that they tried to resurface the the brushed finish, but it came out looking crappy. They didn't remove all of the old clearcoat, so you can see some of the old flakes on the side of the spokes and on the hub itself.
I put them on today, and I have rubbing from the tab on the rear that needs to be shaved off. The original owner ran 215 width tires on these to avoid rubbing, but I did not heed his advice and got the wider tires.
I also have a good vibration and shimmering at about 60MPH. I do have to run 10mm spacers, they're not hubcentric, so I don't know if that's the cause of it. When I took it to a local tire shop to have them rebalance the wheels, the technician told me that one of the front wheels is not completely round, but he is able to balance them.
At this point, I have already spent too much money on them and I don't want to throw anymore at it. I spent about 800.00 for them to fix and refinish all four wheels and about 1100.00 on the tires. Right now, I'm just looking to recoup the cost of the tires so I can get new tires for my car. These will have all the bolts, spacers and hubrings for $1000.00 OBO picked up in Orange County, CA. You can probably get the bend fixed for less than a $100.00 a wheel. They charged me more back then because they re-brushed the aluminum, but if you just get them powdercoated, it would probably be $50.00 to $75.00 a wheel. I'm basically selling you the tires, and you get the wheels for free to work on as a project on your own.
