FS: 19" HRE 540R Wheels
I bought these in Novermber of last year from another member (Archi) on this forum. The previous owner stated a couple of the barrels and lips had been straighted before due to an accident. After I cleaned them up I found out one of the front wheels had a cracked spoke. I also had one of the lips professionaly polished. There is a place locally that said they can fix the crack but they won't refinish the wheel. If the buyer prefers, I will get the crack fixed before they are shipped. I drove on the wheels for a little over a month without any issues. Listed below are the specs I got from HRE. Because the wheels were bored for mercedes center caps, I had a vinyl shop make some HRE caps using oem mercedes caps. Tires are 235/35/19 and have about 1500 miles on them. I'm asking $1100 plus shipping without tires or $1500 plus shipping with tires. I'm located in Houston, TX. Let me know if you have any questions or need any other pics.

Just a heads up. I spoke with HRE and they'll replace all of the centers with 590r or 890r series centers free of charge but you'll have to pay for the replacement of any lips and or barrels that are bent or out of round. I'm not sure what they would consider as needing to be replaced but the previous owner told me he had a couple of the wheels straightened before. Even if they determine all lips and barrels need to be replaced, you'd have a brand new set of HREs for less than $3000.

I am very interested. Saw your ad on another forum. I'm in Dallas and will pick them up. If HRE will fix the centers, I will just have HRE fix them. Was there a recall for them that HRE offered to replace them for free? Just curious. Let me know. Thanks!

I went ahead and got the cracked spoke fixed. The wheel just needs to be painted or powdercoated and you should be good to go. Somebody pick these up.

The crack was welded. There were some pits around the welded area from the grinder the guy used. I filled them with jb weld and sanded smooth. The face of the repaired wheel is now painted and the wheel has been put back together. The pics below were taken this weekend.

Bad news. I put the wheels on for a show this weekend and the one that was cracked, cracked again in the same spot. I'm glad it happened before I sold them to anybody. I guess the only logical thing to do now is send them to HRE for new centers. Accepting offers now.
