1st gear popping out

1st gear popping out
the car drives perfectly otherwise but once and a while under soft acceleration the car pops out of first gear.
This happens daily. I do feel engine vibration between 2-3000rpm which may be the engine mounts. Would this cause the gear to pop out?
It's manual transmission
Anyone else having this issue?

1999 E320 4matic Wagon, 2005 C55 AMG - sold, 1998 VW Jetta TDI - sold, 2006 C230 Sport - Totaled :(
are you saying what JP says as in it pops back in neutral from 1st?
or what i was thinking is, are you driving and it just "slips" out of gear and revs, like with the shifter still in gear? hopefully that is not the case, 'cause if it is that means your transmission is going out. but if that was the case, it would happen with all of the gears.
one thing that happened to me with my last car, a '98 VW golf, it was a slipping kind of thing when i would hit the gas a little harder(not punch it, but just press a little) it would slip as if the tranny was going, but what it was, and i wish i knew before i bought the motherf**ker, it still had the ORIGINAL fuel filter on it and at like 130k!! some idiot before me had never changed the fuel filter on that car.

My car is a 2003 c320
what i mean by popping out is it literally pops out of first gear into nuetral. It feels violent.
Other than that, the tranny feels fine. Dealers will probably start yapping about rebuilding tranny or something that will feed their monthly rent.
I have read that this problem has happened to many others but I cannot find any concrete reason or resolution to this.

Jumping out of gear:
If it is not being caused by engine movement due to a bad mount then:
It's either a bad syncro assembly or a damaged detent assemby in the gearbox - or both.

A tranny oil change won't stop it jumping out of gear. It might improve the change quality however.

Yeah thanks glyn. I figured that it might not fx it but that's what I would try anyway just in case. You do know more about these machines more then I do so I respect all your info to the fullest.

The first to second synchro assembly is the one that takes a hammering. Especially on the comparatively "slow" Benz MT.
