Ideal OFFSET for 20"
Im sure this question has been answered somewhere in the posts but im having trouble finding a solid answer. I want to get GFG supremo wheels running 20x8.5 F and 20X10 R. I was told the offset for the F2 come in 35 F and the rear 42 and that it would not work with my 550 coupe, what offset would i be looking for to have no issues with rubbing and be as flush as possible. Also would i be able to shave the hubs to achieve what i need?

Those offsets, front 20x8.5 et35 and rear 20x10 et42, not only will fit E550 coupe, but those are about as perfect flush offsets as you can get.
I have 20x8.5 et30 front (a bit more aggressive that et35) and 20x9.5 et37 rear (equivalent 20x10 offset would be et43). With those offsets and 235/35-20 front and 265/30-20 rear tires, I have flush fitment. If you will go with wider tires - 245/30-20 (or 255/30-20) front and 275/25-20 (or 285/25-20) rear, you'll be perfectly flush upfront and over by a few mms at rear.

Threembs knows his stuff, he helped me out a lot in this department.. There's nothing better than a forum member who's actually doing it 1st hand, not guessing. With that said in less than a month ill be sitting 1.5" lower and 20x8.5 front 20x10 rear 35et and 42et.. 235/35 275/30

From all the cars ive seen with wheels i have to admit three mb's fitments look absolutely the best! minimum wheel gap, looks dropped. Im hoping everything goes well and i end up having such nice fitment

This is achived by 1" higher front/rear tires than stock.
Three benefits - a very minimum wheel gap (IMO no need to drop), offers better protection to expensive (as well as inexpensive) wheels, maintains taut by still complient enough ride (its an MB after all).

Maybe front wheels come too much out..

Offsets are too low. For a 9" front you want to be at 42et. 11" rear if it even fits you want to be at 55 et.. That should be flush with fender

threeMBs 20's look great and they do make the vehicle look lowered.
The roads in some areas near where we live are awful and I'm concerned that even 19's will be a problem. We had two 18" wheels damaged by local roads in our previous MBZ (SLK55 AMG).
I believe threeMBs posted previously about correct ET for 19's (8.5" and 10"): would you please post again here?

front 8.5" - et32 (range would be et30-34)
rear 9.5" - et38-39 (range would be et37-40)
rear 10"** - et44-45 (range would be et43-46).
Above is base on me trying numerous different wheels/offsets on my 2010 E550 cpe and 2010 E350 rwd sdn. Also above is based on "normal" width tires as should be used on these cars: 245/35-19 & 275-30/19, or 255/35-19 & 285/30-19, or 235/35-20 & 265/30-20, or 255/30-20 & 285/25-20.
** I did not try 10" wide wheel, however it can be easialy derived from 9.5": 10" is 1/2" or 12.7mm wider, so to be at the same exterior (fender flush) point as 9.5" wheel you have to add about 6mm to offset, which also means about 1/2" or almosr 13mm less internal (strut) clearance. Same goes if you want to use 9" wide wheel upfront - just add 6mm to 8.5" offset above. Also, ignore what W212 E63 guys are running - lower offsets than above and wider wheels (both to a point) are possible due to a bit more flared fenders.

I didn't know 255/35-19 & 285/30-19 would fit an E coupe. That would provide a bit more "cushion" for the wheels.

The only times I recall arguing was with people on W212 board saying that 245/35-20 fits the front of E sedan (belive me I tried, but there was no way to fit it on my car), with one "CLK something" guy who was saying that 5mm spacer could be made with a wheel centering lip(!) and on few occasions in this car vs. that car threads (I stay away from those since).
Seeing that you're on 285/25-20 rears (and probably on 245/30-20 fronts), I might have said that the profile is too low for a daily driver. But that's just IMO and if you have no issues then great.

Okay guys so today i found out that these wheels do come in 35 Et front and the rear is actually 38*. after a long discussion what these guys at the wheel shop told me was that if i were to put 235-35-20 in the front, the tire thickness would be too high and it would definitely rub the front spring perch, anyone experience this problem?
P.S. ThreeMBs, i constantly reminded them that i know of a person who has these fitments and has no rubbing issues, they insisted that you might not realize it but ur tire is most likely rubbing against the perch "/

On a rear fitment. If I had to make a choice on 20x10 wheel, I would pick et45 over et38. With et38, 20x10 rear wheel (which is an ideal offset for 9.5" wide rear wheel for flush fitment) will stick out by about 5mm.

You must realize that offset IS the key. With 20x8.5" et30 wheel (this is what I have, but like I said before, et32 would be a better flush fitment), 235/35-20 tire is positioned far enough from that perch that there's no rubbing what so ever. Now with et35 things may change, so it may be a game time decision for you since 5mms can make a difference here.
On a rear fitment. If I had to make a choice on 20x10 wheel, I would pick et45 over et38. With et38, 20x10 rear wheel (which is an ideal offset for 9.5" wide rear wheel for flush fitment) will stick out by about 5mm.

If your doing 8.5 front at 32 et I would do 235 not 245. 10" rear at 45et I would do 275.. If you ever plan on lowering the car it will sit nice and tucked.

Ok i wna apologize in advance and thank you for u patience and help, let me just clear this one last thing up and maybe u can confirm with me. How does 20x8.5 Et 32 (235/245-35-20)F and 20x10 ET 45 (265/275/285-30-20) sound? will this give me flush, no rubbing and clearing perch, and that filled up wheel gap that you have?

Front (stock diameter is 25.4" - try to stay within 1"):
245/35-20 (26.7"-26.8") will definetely NOT fit (do not even try it).
235/35-20 (26.4"-26.5") is the highest sidewall tire you can use on E coupe. I have no issues with et30. You should be OK with et32, but test fit first if you can. Other options are: 225/35-20 - 26.2" (but maybe too narrow) and 255/30-20 - 26" (but maybe just a bit too wide). (245/30-20 is only 25.8" and offers almost no protection to wheels). Again, IMO 235/35-20 is the way to go.
Rear (stock diameter is 25.2" - try to stay within 1"):
285/30-20 (26.7"-26.8") will definetely NOT fit.
275/30-20 (26.5") does fit E sedans, but E coupes have less room, so it may or may not fit. But I would not go more than 1" over stock diameter, hence I chose 265/30-20 (26.3").
Note: all above is based on stock height only. If you plan to lower, you may not be able to use 235-35/265-30 combo, you would need to be closer to stock - 245-30/275-25 instead.
Also to offer more wheel protection, I use 40lbs front anf 44lbs rear tire pressure. The most important - it is very difficul to find a quality tire with both 235/35 and 265/30 sizes. IMO pair mixing is OK as long as the rear pair is rated at least as good in wet conditions as the front.
