Akebono brake pads
I wanted to thank pancho and couple others members that has mentioned the akebono brake pads. Changed the front and rear and took my car for a run high speed and stopping hard and melow and normal, ZERO BRAKE DUST. I'm
very amazed. Stopping is great but feels lil softer and ZERO squeaking

They are great pads.
I have ran a couple sets of them. First with stock rotors, and then with R1 Concept drilled/slotted rotors. Never had a squeaking problem with them.
ZERO dust is the real treat. Stopping power is a little softer bite than the OEM pads. But for everyday commuting they perform very well. Enjoy...

Stupid question, but I have been looking into getting a set of Akebono's, and they have two different kinds for the rear, 2 pin caliper, or 1 pin caliper. How can I tell which one I need? I took a quick look, and I think I have 2 pin, but I'm not positive.. TIA...

the 99/320 came w/both 1 and 2 pin rear pads and I don't remember how you tell the difference without looking but, I do have the two pin on mine and, my car which was manufactured in the later part of 98 but titled in 99. I have Porterfiled R4S pads now and would concur in that there is no dust to speak of put diminished pedal feel. I think a harder or ceramic pad will do that whereas the oem pad is non metalic/ceramic and softer but gives better feel and more black dust.
