Looped Fuel Rail Questions???

I just bought a fuel rail that I plan on looping. I just needed to know if there are any specific measurements or angles that I need to follow. Also I am not sure what injectors I should run, I was told the 550cc but no brand. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

TTM Makes a kit that will eliminate the guess work. Beyond that, you are going to get a lot of varied opinions. I would not wing a project like this. If you do it wrong, it could be problematic.

If you opt to go this route, you will probably need to pull the supercharger, and have the rail fabricated to fit under it. The clearance is VERY tight.

As a TTM fan boy, I would say: Call Bruce.

or if you like watching dollar bills swirl around porcelain, then by all means entertain one of the above options. I personally like seeing my dollar bills going into the gstrings of the performers at the local ballerina club.

Very easy to deal, just find a good welder. Have done 3 of them now, all leak proof, no issues. If you look at my photos in the link above you will see how tight the right angles are on each end. Otherwise straightforward. (No PMs for request please)

I was one of the first to sport the TTM fuel rail, been on for a year and a half, and has run flawlessly. Got 1000cc injectors in mine to boot.

Like Dane and Craig said, there are options out there beside doing it yourself. It's a precise measure, too long or too short it won't fit. And if you were to do it yourself, may as well take an extra step and move the feed point.

Whatever we're tuning!
Here is the thread that grantwoodtx posted:

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-rail-diy.html

As you can see there was never a follow up of his finished rail since the fittings in the picture, which was reverse engineered on PSC, are full swivel fittings that DO NOT WORK with the modified rail because of clearance issues unless you use an AN6 fitting which causes inconsistent fuel pressure to all of the injectors.

The TTM modified rail, which has a provisional patent filed with the US Patent Agency, uses AN8 fittings which is the same size as the OEM rail and produces consistent fuel pressure to every injector unlike the rail that uses AN6 fitting and AN6 stainless steel fuel line.

Here is the prototype TTM Fueling Kit that was tuned and reviewed by Jerry from Eurocharged in early 2011 but was originally purchased by the CLS owner in late 2010 and waited for Jerry to come to FL for tuning:

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ty-review.html

It took us at TTM a couple of months, with a M113k engine on the stand and multiple configurations, to develop the best solution to the #8 cylinder fuel starvation issue, It is common knowledge now but TTM was the first company to address this issue and we continue to have the best products available.

The TTM Fueling Kit(modified 100% new OEM rail, AN8 stainless steel fuel line, TTM proprietary injectors and pig tails) is available for $1100 and we are proud to have in excess of 50 kits on the M113k engine throughout the world.

Imitation is the best form of flattery.

Not 100% true info but the looped rails do help. The real problems are the feed location and the rail not having enough volume to keep injectors with constant and stable fuel pressure. This was tested with stock and looped rails. Sneak peek of the real solution below. Inside diameter larger than -8AN (5/8) fitting that connect the crossover's. Rear crossover will have the inlet in the middle. Rail itself will be able to support well over 1000hp for those looking to push the limit

Yea good idea. Seems so to be a lot of "misleading" information about fuel rails and the fuel problems we have. I actually decided to put some $$ out and have stock and looped rails tested to see what was going on. A looped rail is better than stock yes but the problem is the inlet on the drivers side and the rail itself not having enough volume inside. The talk of "proprietary injectors" And using a stock rail on a modded engine is certain death is a scare tactic. How did I use a stock rail making 620+hp? The 550cc EV14 injectors can be found at many different injectors places and are just Bosch EV14 injectors that are modified to flow 550cc. There's a lot of lies that go around here to scare people I guess.

I have see cars melting nb 8 piston with looped rail, even with looped rail the nb 8 is still the nearest one to the inlet and the farthest, invest ur money in checking ur fuel pumps and install an afr and fuel pressure gauges.

You proceed at your own peril when you exceed the 60K mile service life of the pumps.
