did some go fast mods on my E63 today (video)
so today i got the ECU flashed on my bone stock (besides resonator delete) E63 AMG by eurocharged performance. i came not expecting crazy HP gains, but just a more lively car, because that was the experience i got with the ECU flash on my old w203 C55. the base run was 406RWHP/360TQ. after a few flashes we got it to 417RWHP/372TQ. with the top speed limiter also gone. the car felt much more lively on the throttle and more sharp after the flash on the way back to the performance shop after the dyno. when i got back to the performance shop, i was convinced to delete the charcoal filters, and boy did that make a difference! the car feels alot faster than it did before doing anything and i'm happy with the results. probably gained a good 30hp at the crank today, but responsiveness is what counts. looking to do the TTM scoops next for performance (still looking for a nice front lip!)
thanks eurocharged, again!

how far did you go into deleting the charcoals? and did you also upgrade with K&N or a similar "high flow" filter?
I know some people just cut the tabs and take the charcoals out, others start cutting and drilling and going further and further to help airflow in different ways.
Think you got the 30hp from the tune and filters or just taking out the charcoals? I havent read SUCH a good review for doing so yet, but that's awesome

That's so cool! Yea that was me, and someone effing hit my mirror! lol yea I was checking out the school since I want to do my masters there. Does anyone else have experience with losing low end torque with the charcoal filters gone? I didn't notice power loss down there.

In the long run I think there's more and more value from free retunes (EC) to continually optimize the car through future mods.

correct, the 11WHP on the dyno is nothing crazy, but the car is a night and day difference from before. i don't want to use the BMW E90X M3 as an example, but it's just like when you press the "power" button in the m3, the throttle gets alot more sharp, but you still get the ~420hp under WOT no matter what. it's like that "power" button is on all the time in this car, AND i feel it making more power, noticeably more from the flash+removing the charcoal filters. there is even more power down low, you definitely don't lose any, just gain. 70-120mph in S mode is completely different and ALOT faster.
