Yeah I managed to find them thanks they're great they'll sure save a lot of poking about and hoping for the best, all I need to do now is find somewhere to buy the fibre optic cable fitting to connect the cd changer .. cheers.

Apart from gaining access to the headunit, does anyone know if fitting a mercedes cd changer in the glove compartment to the already installed Audio10 cd headunit is just like a plug and play? (fibre optic and power) or is there more involved once the headunit's accessable?? I just bought a 2002 C'class merc and want to add a changer .. all help gratefully accepted ..thanks

+1 to the OP
Hopefully when I do my install with the AVIC I'll remeber to take some pictures during and post them up in my build thread.
I already have some pictures of the HU wires being wired to the wire harness if anyone is interested to see how I did it.

with our cars you have to make sure the acc power and constant are reversed on the harness. since the harness many use is the vw adapter harness the constant and acc are backwards. just make sure whats what with a voltage reader.

I know that this is a really old thread but thank goodness it was here. This really helped me to dismantle the central console to remove an old Alpine navigation system with a central vent mounted 6" display / TV unit. Just to look up the glove box removal now so that I can remove the cabling. The Main unit was located on the shelf in the glovebox and I couldn't figure out how to remove it until I had an idea to slide a knife above and below the unit - Hey Presto - no screws, just stuck with super German tape (Car was originally sold in Germany).
Now that I know how to dismantle and assemble the console I'm looking at a neater way of cabling my Garmin instead of having a big wire dangling across the dash.

If you have a factory amp connected to that fiber optic cable, you'll have no sound unless you manually wire all the speakers to the stereo. If your speakers were already wireed to the factory HU directly, you should be fine.
