A couple of you have asked the question about water under the hood. I stopped by the local MB shop yesterday and explained what we were doing and what was their thoughts on the design and effect of potential water. Their comment was that everything under the hood is water proof in these cars. They said you can wash your engine without fear of water damage. Many late models like the Viper have stock louvers that allow water into the engine compartment while allowing heat to escape.
The following photo's show where the louvers/vents are located. The white strips of paper are right where the opens are located on the hood. Keep in mind that these vents are designed to draw air out from the engine compartment and while driving actually pulls the hot air out. Therefore water will not enter while moving. They are located right above the air channels to help cool the incoming air temps. Under normal conditions ALL the engine bay heat must pass down through the tunnel behind the engine. Thus trapping an incredible amount of heat and forcing hot air around the rear "Y" shapped air ducting that feeds into the intake manifold.
Once again, this design was done with racing and functionality of heat removal in mind, not to look cool. It just happens to look cool while doing its job. LOL

Are you going to be a permanent sponsor? I'd like to ge it, but I'm moving out of the country for 2 years
BTW if you are ever low on water in the windshield wipers (whatever you call it) open up the cap when it rains
Also I noticed the top part of the grill isn't there anymore? Is it cuz it won't fit?

I plan to be a permanent sponsor but this hood will probably only have one run so if you are thinking about one you will need to get it on this initial production.

Interested in FRP. PM sent to Keith.
Does anyone know if there is a company out there that makes hood struts that are lower in pressure? My concern is with using the stock ones and the pressure of opening and closing the hood will eventually create cracks around the mount area.

Keith...I'm surprised no one has asked this yet. Is this hood going to have the tight fight and tolerance like the factory hood? I've had experience with aftermarket hoods and trunks before and they leave huge gaps when closed. Do you know if they are going to build it in such a way to ensure a tight fit and not just a "good enough" fit?
