MBH/Kleemann Stage 2 vs MHP Stage 2 Dynos
Another local C63 (4Ramin) came by the dyno shop (MD Automotive in Westminster) today while I was dynoing and we got to compare results, same dyno, same operator, same conditions.
His car had the full MHP S2 package w/ 100 cel cats and ROW airboxes, running on the 93 octane tune (mix of 100 and 91). Graph below shows a comparison of each of our best runs. My car had the mods noted in my sig. My run is 004 and his is 035. I think 4Ramin will better my numbers once he updates to Andy's new tune, as the file run here is the old Techtec version.
Great meeting you 4Ramin! And great group of guys over at MD Automotive.
Obviously both cars look really strong.
Enjoy!

Hey Eric,
what has change on your set up to go from 472whp/431lb-tq to 500whp and 454lb-tq?
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...hp-431wtq.html
It seems like all your cars and all your dynos are dyno queens with excellent dyno numbers... do you do good break- ins?

Eric,
It was great meeting you, I'm really glad you asked me to come. Both cars did great. I really wanted to see how the car will do with 100 cell cats, they are v banded so very simple to remove. Going back next week after my Xpipe install and with the cats removed. I really dont know how much of a impact the cats had but i'm really happy to pull 489 with the cats.

Kleemann plus these airboxes net'd 36WHP??? That's quite the difference...
Perhaps this new dyno was a bit happy.
Sorry, not trying to be a hater, just seems like a bit much. You're almost at Dodgers numbers and he was running 100oct and race exhaust.

But for comparisons sake, rest assured that I intend to take the car back to my usual dyno next week when the shop owners return from holiday break. But even if I were to pull slightly lower numbers there due to subtle dyno variations, I've got to think that the results are still indicative of a strong running car.
Regardless of absolute numbers, I'm very pleased to see my car hold it's own in a direct comparison to a full MHP S2 car with ROW Airboxes and 93 octane, as we all know how strong those cars typically are.

Well, we chose this dyno because it was located about midway between me and 4ramin, and also because it came highly recommended from others. This is the same dyno that Edmunds.com uses for all of their testings, and being a Dynojet 248 cannot really be manipulated by the user. I should also mention that the airflow from the fan used here was much better that the shop I usually go to.

As another point of reference, just found a thread containing a recent dyno of another member's c63 w/ Kleemann K2 Package at this same location.
In the thread link below, looks like his best run was 449whp/397wtq SAE corrected, so I think our cars did amazingly well in comparison. His numbers are also right in line with what I would expect for the modifications.

Nice comparison Eric!
I'm curious if 4ramin chooses to update to the new MHP tune to see what those numbers equate too on the same dyno.

I find the shape of the torque curves most interesting, being virtually identical. Given recent speculation about one design being better than another in the low- to mid range these results suggest the opposite.
