A very good run Jon. Congrats. I will just let it go for now because its getting old. You have me for now but only by 3 100's which is nothing to beat at all. I could leave my house and do it right now its just to damn cold. LOL I'm just getting bored of it to be honest.
My best run is 8.57. 3 100's slower than yours. I can live with that for now. LOL

what devices do you guys use to measure these runs? In my eyes there are soo many variables that you would never get it accurate, correct or fair.
You need GPS and engineering devices to first make sure that the road in which you are testing doesn't have inclination. You then have to make sure that there was no air slowing you or pushing you through out the run. Then the altitude.... then the tire pressure.. and the size of the tires...and off course the gas...then the driver's weight... . Was the gas tank full or almost empty? the C63 takes 18 galons which it could be well over 100lbs
Do you guys see why there are so many variables? Everything counts, how low your tire pressure was, your gas in the gas tank, the elevation...etc, etc, etc

Just like any other time or record there will always be variables. Weather is a big factor. The slope is also a factor. The maximum allowed decline is 3% over the distance of the run. Meaning whatever drop in feet divided by the amount of feet it took to complete the run.
If you want to maximize your run you should make sure you are doing everything within the rules to give yourself an advantage. These include the proper slope and choosing good weather. Also making sure your tank is 1/4 or less and your tire pressure is full all around. There are also tricks in shifting that can improve your times as well as a good RPM to begin your run. All these factors depend on the vehicle as well and where it finds it power.

I'd have more respect for you if you would show up at the track and race him. What's the problem? You clearly have a strong car. What are you afraid of? So maybe you lose..whatever. The back and forth, name calling, insults, etc... just makes you look bad. Put up or shut up, please..

Pot calling the kettle black?? This is exactly why you really annoy most people. You couldn't just let it go by, you had to add in the snarky comment about being a loser. I don't think you even realize what you're saying most of the time. I'm only commenting now, 'cause you jumped in my for sale thread last month and made some smart *** comment about why you would only buy CPO..

This run has failed being verified and has been deemed over the 3% decline limit. All these runs to this point have been verified on another site. I now question if any of his runs are legit since he says "The slope was the same"

On top of it even after he KNEW the run had been denied he still tried to get a front page article posted about his new record on bb.com and continued to rub it in my face about how he beat me. This guy is a class act.
Now you can all see what I have been trying to tell you.......
