Carbon Fiber Side Mirror Covers
I am going to be upgrading to a 2010 C63 from my 09 this week and plan on doing some mods on the beast this time around
First order of business will be some tints and im thinking 20% all around.
But what I really want to know about is CF mirror covers. I have seen different types floating around the internet and wanted to see if anyone on here can point me to where I can get some. I am not interested in spending a few bills to replace the whole unit, I am more interested in replacing the covers.
I found these on eBay but and not sure how they would be installed. Is it just 3M tape and you slap it onto of the existing mirrors?http://www.ebay.com/itm/330788539338...84.m1423.l2649
Any input would be appreciated for a noob modder
Thanks,
Paul

PS. What percent tints do you have on your car?

Very cool mod. I think I might give these a try. Anyone know if the double-sided tape will stick to a clear bra-type covering on the side view mirrors? Or would it be preferable to remove that layer before install of the tape?

Oh ok. Awesome! They must be a really think piece of Carbon fiber to have it sit on top of the existing mirrors, correct? Do they stick off a bit, or does they sit pretty flush? Is it a simple DIY install i can do myself? Seems like $100 seems like a good bang for your buck.

Hmm, interesting. Never thought of these.
I've been eyeing these guys (from another thread): http://www.cksperformance.com/index....ducts_id=20335
Will be ordering them once my BS gets here in a couple months.

Let me know what you think of them. The idea looks great, but Im hesitiant to pull the trigger because I'm not sure if the cover interfere with the turn signal lights and not sit flush (if that makes sense).
Those are probably the legit way of replacing the whole unit as apposed to a cover, but 500 is a lot for just mirrors. Plus my car is black, so the CF wouldnt pop like it might on a white or silver car.
Those look nice too, but the pictures of them on the car looks there is an added layer over the lights. I really dont want it to look aftermarket or not clean. You know what im saying?

I bought mine on the Bay as well but from a different seller, mine is from Taiwan VD-Cool. It fits perfectly and very easy installation.

Ok, I just checked my local dealer for the price on carbon fiber side mirrors...they want 3k usd... for each. Mind blown. If you add it on a car being built it is $800 for both. If I knew you could add it on when I built mine I would have. Does anyone know a good replica for the side mirrors that isn't an add on? Trying to get a good weave to the oem. I love their craftsmanship. FML sad day for me.
