Prior Design Widebody BS Build Thread

Prior Design Widebody BS Build Thread
I decided to make a new thread for the installation of my body kit fitment. My motor build thread can be found here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...age-build.html
I ordered the full body kit in two phases from Prior Design Germany. First the rear then the front section.
Upon arrival they had mistakenly sent me the arches for the two door and added the correct ones in when they sent the front section.
On initial inspection the front bumper has been broken as pictured below due to the box being transported upside down. You can see the airticket labels on the box are wrong way round vs the Prior Design lables. Looking at the broken bumper lets me conclude that in fact the body items are fibre glass and not partial ABS plastic. This was confirmed by the body shop as well. Prior has offered to compensate me for the repair of the damage.
I did some test fitment as well to get a idea of what we are in for.
Some test fitment photos.
Front complete fender
All the items across the floor in the body shop.

Nice man good luck! I meet with these guys a couple weeks back, they are located very close to me and were very stand up guys! I am interested to see how yours will come out, are they doing the work for you or are you getting the work done somewhere else?
Good luck, all the best!

Sux that work blocks imageshack. Can't wait to get home and view the pics. What happened to the "Good Old Days" of the 80's with body kit manufacturers like AMG, BBS, Hella, and Zender to name a few that made urethane kits?
The front and rear bumper covers should be urethane and the rest of the kit can be fiberglass.

Nice color
Is the widebody a custom job?
I also see you have an extended rear roof spoiler, a longer front lip and some extra part on top of the rear bumper (at the end of the trunk door).

the long front lip has modified from the arkym lip, the rear roof spoiler has 2 parts, one is the benz oem roof spoiler and a customer deck spoiler, the truck part is also a customer part.

All the components spread on the floor of the cleanest body shop I have visited. Work conducted by Barry at Greenstone Autobody in Edenvale, South Africa.
Rear bumper removed. You can see the stock stiffener that hold the bumper in place.
Custom stiffener that keeps the bumper in shape and on the car.
Bumper internals was modified adding quite a few additional brackets.
Pic showing how it all holds together.
Rear bumper put in place. So far so good.
Only problem to face is the muffler does not line up well. Its the Agency power valvetronic for daily use so I am going to have to make a plan with this as it makes a big difference when commuting in traffic.
We now have the bumper on.
This is the amount the bumper sticks out vs the stock arch.
Time to nip and tuck :roflol:
Since Barry is a perfectionist he was not just going to glue on the Prior Arches and call it a day. He decided to go the extra mile on his own accord and build a metal arch support.
I am loving the attention to detail. Even the part of the arch that will be in door sill is supported. You know in case a fat chic wants to roll in.
This piece is added to the door to make the arch flow correctly. On the bottom left there is a semi circle. Its the only very slight dent on my car.
I will carry on with updates as they happen. Right side arch left to do and then its time to move to the front of the car with two fenders, skirting and front bumper left. The one fender is quite a bit out so it will be needing some work. Will do that info in next thread though.

So You had to change the stock solid stiffener to a custom thin frame which will not absorb the force if you get rear-ended?
I love the quality of the work done by the shop but that rear bumper doesn't look right to me.
Does the diffuser have the same shape as in the Black Series?

George,
Congrats on your build and it looks like its coming along well!!
I'm not sure if you all know but the exhaust on the black series exit is completely different from the standard C63. The BS rear bumper has the exhaust tips integrated into it. There is NO rear diffuser. Its all part of the rear bumper as you can see from these pictures. The stock exhaust will not work with the BS rear bumper or any other kits thats replicate the BS rear bumper. You will need to order the BS rear tail section of have your existing exhaust modified. The problem is that the bumper is so close to the BS bumper that it gives you little to no room to make any modifications. You really need to order the rear tail section of the BS exhaust if you want it all to fit properly.
I'm curious if any of the kits supply the BS tips and exhaust parts needed or just leave you with the hole in the rear bumper and expect you to figure it out??

Thanks, I was left with a whole in the rear and another set of tips that are just mantle pieces now. I am going to have to chop the exhaust quite a bit to retain the Agency muffler.

Progress has been good. We have now finished the rear of the car and are working on the front fenders. The one has serious fitment issues so we working on modifying.
Some general pics below.

Here is a pic to get a idea.
The body shop will sort it so its not critical. Looking back I was thinking of ordering the OEM fenders but lets see what the fix looks like.
