TIRES TIRES TIRES
Need to get some new tires!!! Debating over which tire to get. Ill worry about how wide i want it after i figure out the tire. Im thinking its between Bridgestone RE-11, Michelin PSS, Michelin PS2, or Michelin PS3. Basically i want something that is going to give me as much grip as possible. Im gonna try and get some new 18" wheels and make this my summer set up only, for winter ill keep the stock 18" set up with the conti's. Thanks, all help is appreciated!!

The sidewalls on the PSS's are weaker than the RE-11'a and on a heavy car they collapse under speed. They caused my car to wiggle uncomfortably. Once I put the RE-11's on the wiggle went away. Reseach it many have had similar complaints.

As someone who uses his C63 as a daily commuter to and from work, would switching over to a High-Performance All-Season tire have much effect on performance and drivability?
I am looking at the Continental Extreme Contact DWS because of its high tread wear (540). Anyone have any experience or input with these tires?
And to answer the OPs question, the Bridgestone Pole Position are the stock tires that a lot of exotics and Porsche use, so you definitely cannot go wrong with those.

RE-11 has a pretty low treadwear. if you dont mind that then RE-11 is the way to go.
PSS is a better daily tire since it has a higher treadwear and its softer, but on a track yes the sidewalls are too soft...i actually have wear on the side of the tires from track

What kinda pressures are you running? Granted, I've only autox'd the PSS's, but never had any wear/contact past the tread.

I also have PSS's on my CLS550, and so far I've put around 7000 miles on her and the rears still look new. It's a 4matic, so no wheelspin, lasts a lot longer.

Always remember that it's a known fact that summer tires perform better than all season tires on dry and wet rainy road (above 45 degrees).

I'm at 6000 miles so far on the PSS on the BS, with about 1/2 tread remaining on the rears. This is driving with ESP off at all times, and getting sideways everywhere. The only comparison on this car is the OEM Dunlop R Compounds, the rears lasted under 2000 miles with the same driving style.

On the BS, under 3000rpms, you need ESP off to get full power. I *think* ESP sport mode has a different throttle map where it's not going full throttle even at full throttle, and is just generally "slow" off the line. The key to not eating curb is to not floor it with ESP off. All about the proper throttle control.

I have 5k miles and 5 track days on my current set of RE-11's ...still 7/32 tread left in the rear and 5.5/32 on the fronts.
PSS is a better daily driving tire and will last a bit longer, but the RE-11 is much better on the track/for grip.
Ps, I feel like a broken record here, as I've seen this exact debate come up 3 times in the last month on this forum lol.

I have PSS on my Ferrari, and they are very good tires, better than the PS2's that were on previously. However, when my PSS's wear out on the Ferrari, I will attempt to replace them with RE-11's. that's how good they are.

RE-11's and PSS's are basically the top 2 tire choice. Like most people have said, RE-11 if you spend time at the track (a little grippier when warm), PSS for street only duties. PSS's are better in the wet, quieter, and lasts longer, hence the better street tire. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference in grip between the 2 on the street.
