P30 Rotor Ring Group Guy?
Hi all,
Just testing the waters on this. As others have mentioned in a few threads, Coleman Racing out of Michigan is able to make replacement rotor rings for us at a fraction of the cost of current replacements on the market.
Would anyone be interested in purchasing a set of these? Not sure about cost at all as I've yet to call them.
But we could get somewhat creative with them in terms of design.
Take a look at these examples.

http://www.colemanracing.com/Cup-Rot...ing-P3647.aspx
http://www.colemanracing.com/Cup-Rot...unt-P3648.aspx
Or we could just go with the traditional style drilled.
http://www.colemanracing.com/Cross-D...tor-P3768.aspx
I don't know the pricing structure on these but I'd like to ask what they'd do for group pricing.
1-3 sets? 4-6? 10? And what type of a discount we'd be looking at.
More so, and here's the best part, we could create these in the 390mm size (black series), but we'd have the purchase the Racing Brake Adapter for $400... Ouch. (Racing Brake, help us out here? )
On another note, a previous member got 390mm rotors manufactured at Coleman a while back and posted ALL of the measurements here on MBworld. So the only thing I'd have to change is 390 to 360 should we choose to go that route.
Give me some input as I'd be more than happy to jump on the phone with them to talk pricing, timelines, etc.

I am also interested in the cross drilled rotor in OEM size for a 2012 coupe, I would need the rotor and hat section. I would also like the full dimensions and material specification for the Coleman replacement.

Would Racing Brake sell you the caliper spacer separately? I called them and they told me they wont sell them separately.

I'd be most interested in the stock size with OEM style of cross-drilled and slotted. Too bad they can't replicate the true pattern. If there is significant savings for one of the styles I'd pick that as a 2nd choice for favorite.
I'd expect if we can get them 10 committed buyers they may give a little discount.
Thanks for moving forward on this. I've been following the Coleman threads here. I've got their custom rotors on my RX-7 and they perform great.

Hi all,
Sorry I dropped off of this thread. I figured since a few people wanted them with the hats, etc., it might be best for these rotors to be placed individually as they aren't that pricey anyways.
Regardless, I got my hands of a set thanks to a member here that ordered a couple of sets and had a spare set sitting around.
Here are some pics:
More pics in my journal thread.
I'm very happy with them, from what I can tell, they're awesome. Cost is about $350 or so a rotor depending how how you get them spec'd. They're fully custom, so you can go with only slotted, only drilled, blanks, etc. At this spec, like I mentioned, they're right in the ballpark of $350 a rotor shipped.
Another great aspect of these rotors is actually weight savings. I weighted both rotors without hats and hardware and got the following numbers. 25.6lbs for OE, and 22.2 for Coleman's. That's a 3.4lb lighter than stock, but this is unsrung weight. Generally, the rule of thumb for unsprung weight is that every 1lb you shed, equates to the car feeling like it lost 8 lbs of spring weight. In other words, my car *should* feel about 54.4 lbs lighter. I may not ever feel that, but hey, it's great to know that I'm not adding weight to the car as well.

Well, RacingBrake does sell them, but I decided to re-use mine along with some Loctite.
They're grade eight bolts and are tightened to 5ft. lbs. so I'm not sure replacing would have done much at all.

I'll replace them once these rotors go bad, however just for the hell of spending money.

Since this option isn't expensive, I don't even know that a GB is warranted. I've spoken to the guys over at Coleman personally, and front rotors in this configuration are $350 each shipped.

Oh gotcha. I never actually went through with the group buy since it seems a lot of people wanted different things. Some front, some rear, some with hats, others without.

We may consider a "hat credit" for those who have P30 set up to send their used hats to us, in exchange, they can use this credit to purchase our fully assembled brand new two piece rotors (including performance street pads).
With this used hat credit purchase you shall be paying about $400-$450/rotor (including band new hat, hardware and assembly) which is better than what's being attempted here with Coleman rings.
What you guys think?

Not sure how many people are really interested in this "rotor ring replacement" deal, while some may be concerned of dealing with hardware & assembly etc.

1) Can you please explain what this concern is? (First bolded point)
2) So we send in our used P30 hats and you'll sell us front rotors, fully assembled with hats, and front brake pads for $900 max? (at $450 per side?) + shipping + tax (if applicable) + plus the cost of sending the old hats back? At that point, we're roughly at about $1000+. Seems like a a decent deal, but please confirm here.
3) Can you please explain how your package is better than what I've got going with these Coleman rotors and Endless MX-72 brake pads? Per your bolded point above, you state your package is better.
4) What's the weight of your rotors? I've got mine weighing in at 22.2lbs fully assembled.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I know your thread is a couple years old about the Coleman rotor rings, but was wondering if you could give me some feedback on them? how did they work out for you, what was the durability like, did you track the car with them at all, etc?
i have factory P30s as well and have found that the rotors are fairly warped after 3 track days. I'm looking for something a bit more durable that is still fine for driving daily.
Any info you could share would be very helpful.
Thanks!
Ryan
