Looking To Buy A C63 AMG - Things To Look Out For & Must Haves? Will Also SuperCharge
Hi Everyone!
I have just joined the forums as I have just finished saving up for a C63 - aside from Super Cars, my "dream car" if you like!
Now I wanted some advice on what to look out for, I understand there are a few different models and a few options the car can be spec'd with?
I will be getting the facelift version, I understand there is 450 - 480 - 507 BHP variations?
Also, I've read a must have is the LSD - anyway to check if a car is definitely spec'd with this?
Finally, the Harman Kardon sound system is also noted as a worthy option to have too!
My budget for the car that I've saved up is £45k - I am looking for a Facelift C63 Saloon, in Silver.
I plan on adding the Weisstec Supercharger for £10k as well as a another £5k or so for the fitting and additional parts needed for it.
This is a huge amount of money I will be spending on my dream motor that I certainly plan on keeping for my life and hopefully pass down to my kids one day, so want to make sure I get it right first time!
Just wanted to ask everyone's advice on the different versions of the car, which one is best to go for, major things to look out for and of course any extra's that are worth looking to see if the has been added with when it was manufactured and bought new.
Any input is appreciated!

This has got to stop. Search. If you plan to supercharge and you are asking these questions, you haven't done enough research on your own. You will find that very few people will spoon feed you in this forum. Good luck.

I have done many hours research on the topic of a used C63 and read through masses of information.
Sometimes, getting a few bullet points from people who know the car inside and out is extremely helpful.
Just a simple,
Look out for ....
Additional extra's worth having on the car are...
And that's about it.
I don't have questions on supercharging the car, I just stated its my plan to get it done.
I have seen the thread you have linked and found it very useful, but still didn't get the information I would have liked, hence my thread

Someone who actually had 60K to buy and supercharge their dream car would go do it, not post silly questions about the sound system....especially if you actually read all the good info in the FAQ already.
Which why people are going to assume this was written by a dreamy teenager. Because it probably was.

Does everyone in this forum just enjoy being a holes to everyone come on should he have searched maybe yes iv seen a lot of same asked threads but come on we don't need to constantly get nasty I feel like most on here just enjoy belittling the new comers I'll help you out if you are getting a facelift most of the problems are worked out like the headbolts big difference with facelift is oil overheating with track style driving and putting car in limp mode with a supercharger this might add to it as well mb has a fix as well as a diy some guys have done with success in keeping it cool thread another issue is the cam adjusters go bad but not much you can do about that it's just chance really other then that these are solid cars not much to worry about with the facelift the diff horse power variations is the regular the p31 package and the 507 package basically a tune gets you over those power levels with the base but without the sls internals which might post useful for supercharging route

Oh, c'mon guys... Let's all just lighten up a little
OP, the search tool here on this forum not always leads you to the best path. Try google, then add your question like "whateverthe****iwanttoknow mbworld" and BAM, bunch of threads will show up.
Please forgive those guys up there. They're our elders. Yes, they're probably that old. They know a lot about the w204 generation with it's M156 engine, aswell as some other Benzes, but they get tired of being asked the same questions over and over and over and over again, by rookies like you (and me). They're like that very very wise peakock, gorgeous feathers and wisdom and lot's of knowledged, but they get cranky sometimes, and you don't wanna mess with a peacock. Really. They are giant and they are mean. Just run when they start calling their lads.
And use the goddamn search tool. You'll be fine!

OP -- Real advice outside of the helpful advice you have already receive... Buy a c63 first and then come talk to us about superchargers. As you can tell by the responses, every other day we get "What should I look for when buying a c63?" and usually everyone has "plans" to supercharge it.
We all like to see how deep the aftermarket goes when shopping platforms, of course, but any real advice you will get will come after you actually have a c63.
You must have skipped over it in all your searching, so I'll refer you to the FAQ sticky where there is a section with links for those looking to buy a c63.

Xero63, don't worry about the different variations. Just look around for certain options that you want. Focus more on the color, bi-xenon headlights, interior trim and leather color, stuff like that. A tune, lsd and other stuff can be added very easily afterwards.

Hi op, I was in your same exact shoes not too long ago. Being new to the forum WITHOUT yet owning a c63 isnt too friendly of a welcome..to say the least (Let this be a warning to any other "newbies"). However these questions and the many others being asked have most likely already been answered somewhere in the forums/google/world wide web and some members hate to have to answer the same question over and over again. (im guilty of doing the same thing op)
1. But to answer your questions, the 451 (base), 481 (p31 package), 507 (507 edition) hp variants all come at a cost, considering you have a budget, i would find one that suits that as well as one you like. Dont be afraid to get the lowest one because that's still a lot of power and if you plan to supercharge no need to get anything too extreme.
2. LSD is a favored option because it definitely helps with that much power to the rear wheels, shouldn't be a deal breaker as you can install an aftermarket LSD.
3. Finally, the Harman Kardon sound system is standard on the C63 so dont worry about that.
Lastly, the members here are all nice folks. The initiation process may seem a bit rough....however, once you get the car, they welcome you with open arms. Just remember to USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION and if you cant find the information, someone here will help you. Good luck

If he plans on going ***** to the wall weistec stage 3 then definitely at least the p31 package for the internals which i wanna say also has the lsd. Though this package will come at a price.
Also the facelift is a good choice you're doing good my friend.
