Tires for CLK 55 AMG

My car is a 2004 CLK 55 AMG with 48k miles. When I bought it in March, it had Ironman iMove tires.

My questions for all y'all:
1. Anyone familiar with Ironman iMove tires? I have not heard of/seen them before.
2. Any suggestions on replacement brands?

In addition to daily driving, I have a 2016 rally on two-lanes roads that will take me from Las Vegas to Vancouver BC; I am interested in a good travel tire that also will make the car corner better than it does with the Ironmen.

I dono bout the rest of the world but Mercedez Benz South Africa has partnered up with Continental. They are what Mercedez sells over the counter now at an exorbitant price I'd say. Michellins are good. Seen a lot with Potenza tires or just get Continental tires. 225/40/18 I think is the correct profile on a std 18'' AMG CLK or C Class 55. Continentals are great tires but Michellin although pricier, wont let you slide in the rain. Depends what you comfortable with but then again, its your safety at risk. So why compromise?

I cannot recommend the continental DWS enough. I have had 4 sets on a different cars, and others have purchased on another halfa dozen cars based on my recommendation. No complaints.

There is an updated version now, the DWS 06, just bought a set for my low mile C55.

Best part is they are not terribly expensive. Really the best all around tire I have used.

The Pilot A/S's are great as well, offer a little more feel and edginess compared to the DWS.

However, I live in Chicago, where I will trade that edge in feel for a substantial increase in snow/ice traction.

If you have no need for snow traction, a pure summer tire would be best and forget the A/S all together.

I've used them as well and they have terrible life. 15k miles and they show signs of wear. I don't see them lasting more than 30k. They have a warranty of 50k miles which they'll quickly try not to honor and blame it on where you purchased the tires, alignment issues etc etc.

The sidewalls are also quite soft, which could be a good thing if you want a more comfortable ride. They also do surprisingly well in snow.

I'll try something else next time I buy tires.

Having a staggered setup automatically negates the warranty from any tire manufacture as far as I know.

Pay you must if you want to play.

Yeah they mention half the warranty (25k) for rear if different size...and I'm still getting less than that. I have a friend who has the same tires on his car (non staggered) and he's getting about the same mileage out of them. I won't even bother with the warranty, obviously. Good tires...but crappy life if you ask me.

Thank all of you for your advice!
I will likely go with a Michelin Pilot summer tire since: the car is in Central Texas; my rally will take place August 2016; the Michelins get good ratings in rain.
