What tires are the best?

Hey guys, so it's time to get new tires for my w208 CLK55, just curious to know what tires you guys prefer, why and where you guys live/the climate that you live in. Currently running Eagle F1 all seasons and they've been great, but before I go ahead and replace them I wanted to hear from others. Also, I am running 100% stock wheel and tire size.

now I have
Pilot SuperSports in the summer.
Bridgestone Blizzaks in the winter. (225 all around on the OEM rims, looks silly, hahaha)

18" Monoblock II rims. Vredestein UltracSessenta 235/40x18" in front and 265/35x18" in rear. Tyres were kind of budget choice but can't complain. I need new rears for next summer but I think I'm going to order whole new set. Don't know yet.

Michelin pss are the best however if you get snow at all these would not be a good option. The michelin A/S 3 are really good all round however I have found them to be a little noisy.

I love the PSS, but I got lazy because of the mild winter so far and didn't put on the snow tires. We just got a decent storm and oh my the PSS sucks in the snow!

I just bought the hankook v12s. Great tire. Quiet and lasts. But not sure how it would be in snow. Can't imagine it would be too great.

Bridgestone Potenza Re002. Not many people seem to run them but I think they perform well and last a lot longer than others I have tried. I had Eagle F1's on the front beforehand, they were fine.

None for now
If you do track days, nothing is better than Toyo R888.

If you don't do track days, Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

although discussed in depth before, tire technology is always changing, so for that reason its always a fresh subject to discuss

It rains here a lot in the summer,

I opted for nankang sport for the front that sticks well and channels the water from the path of the rear.
For the rear Dunlop sticky tires work real well when heated up. Tread life is minimal though.
Bridgestone and Yokahama are a good choice as well. If you are road racing check out Nitto from the tire rack.

The continental DWS series tires are nothing short of amazing.

Everyone I recommend them to agree. I have bought three sets for my cars, along with friends and family buying sets for their cars. Everyone loves them, and has no complaints.

Grip great in the rain, snow, and dry. Tire noise is low, and the ride is compliant.

I agree with you Nach,

I put Continental conti-sport on my 124 Conti -tour on the Bike and they were grand.
Good etching and compound ready for war. outlasted all the tires on 208 but fun is fun.!!!

Continental makes a good tire for all purpose driving.

Cheers, Gator

I have the Pilot ss for use in the warmer months and I agree with the others about them in the snow. I saw one Chicago snow storm in those and bought winter tires the next day. Before purchasing them I talked with my mechanic who told me that the guys that sell tires typically run the cheapest winter tires on their own cars because they don't make too much of a difference. I got GT Champiro winter pros for dirt cheap and they work great. Had even better grip on dry roads than the Michelins at around 40 degrees

I would never drive my CLK in the snow and it doesn't see wet weather often so I'm not to worried about that, that being said how are the PSS in rain? I guess what I'm trying to ask is snow all I should worry about with the PSS?
