are you talking about where you put your elbow? If so mines was like that i used a precision screwdrive to depress the small bar on the side to close it. can you take the whole thing off?

The console door (under your elbow) wouldn't close and I thought I was screwed. A couple screwdrivers and some good luck fixed it in about 5-10 minutes.
If you have good light you'll see what tabs need to be pressed in order to get everything back together.
