She liked it better when I told her the new leather coming in will be better than any of her LV or Gucci bags...

I kept yelling out Miami Vice references (to myself) but it went over her head...I'm ten years older so she missed out on Crocket and Tubbs.

Looking great Jon

The C124 has a timeless design....still have people in traffic asking me what year it is...
Of all my cars it's my favorite

Ed...I totally agree. I can't say so much about the new E class designs though. That organic look doesn't appeal to me.

My only minor complaint are the seat belt extenders and lack of cup holders. I want to pull out my hacksaw on them sometimes. When the interior gets redone, I might have the shop take them apart and rebuild them better materials or just delete them altogether.

I bought aftermarket cup holders but will try and get a better solution when the interior gets redone. They work but done flow with the interior...

Jon

Back in the eighties when the cars were new, dealers offered a door mounted fold down cupholder color matched to the interior.

Not the best ergonomically.

Do you have an open console or a roll back top console box?
With the rollback you can always install a cupholder inside and roll the top back when you are using it.

With the Recaro's, I lost the armrest feature.
Located an aftermarket Schatz W202 console, modified it and gained more storage space...you might want to look at newer Merc consoles like the W202 that have a pop-up cupholder feature.

The car is very cool. I have to say my w124 is my favorite by far. I love driving it. The leather in the 500E is pretty nice. It is extremely thick and in amazing condition for its age and 123,000 miles.

@Andre...still stock numbers. The twin turbo kit will get installed after some of my other builds die down...probably Christmas time.

@ilovemaui1...I drove the Blue Beard (new name) all day today. Man I love this car...such a solid car compared to cars of today. The leather is good in mine but it needs some love for all the love its given its previous owner and now me.

Holy Crap! There NEEDS to be an update on this. I have seen what you have done with your E55, GTR and your latest creation with the SL65... I cannot wait to see what you have in store for this thing.
