my recommendation sticks. What I suggested is an excellent brake setup for 124's
a forum member (Dave) was sourcing those for ppl that are interrested. I beleive his nickname should go as GSXR or AMGdave.

Been some time since I talked to Nick and don't remember his exhaust system.
Take a look and see if it has two down pipes that go all the way to the rear silencer.
If you're going to do the TT then you want minimum back pressure.
2-1/2" dual exhaust with spun metal high flow cats.
We rattled twin SL500 cats on the dyno, and actually gained 11HP with the dual spun metal units.
Always anxiety waiting for the car to arrive...
End of next week?

Baby Hammer is here...there is so much potential for this car to look really epic.
Exterior...really not much to be done.
1. AMG/OZ 17"s need to go on
2. Lower it just a tad with the wheels coming out just a bit
3. All the exterior plastic trim painted satin black
4. Xpel Ultimate protection
5. Retint the rear glass (it was replaced due to a crack)
Interior...chomping at the bit for this to get started.
1. New leather everywhere...seats, doors, rear deck, all panels, and floor.
2. Alcantara headliner
3. Piano black wood trim
4. Upgraded audio/video

Sub frame is off and getting cleaned up and powder coated...all new rear links and bushings in the rear. Years up North took their toll...but all is good and with all OEM parts should be a much better ride than it was...
The AMG/OZ wheels were test fitted and look great...custom center caps are being made are at paint. Front (3mm) and rear (12mm) spacers were used to get the look right and the rear needs to go down about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Hopefully, we can make the lowering adjustment via thinner spring pads.
After the suspension work is completed then we get into the interior refresh...can't wait.

Just picked up a 1993 500E. I'll be watching this thread for ideas.

Stopped by the shop...subframe came back Monday from powder coating and everything should be put back together by Friday. What wasn't powder coated were just cleaned up...
Rotors and brake pads were replaced (went OE for now) and one caliper had to get replaced.
Spring pad went from #3 to #1.
Centercaps are at paint and should be done by Friday. Left center caps plain...just painted. I just like the clean look...I'll let the rest of the wheel speak for itself.
More pics to come...next is interior work.

Jon, It truly is a beautiful car and will no doubt be the best one on the planet when you are done with it. You're an inspiration to us all. I can't wait to see the final product. Of course they always say, the process is the best part of every journey.

Thx for the kind words...as much as the process can test one's patience...I truly love it. Coming from a good thing to something hopefully better and more personal is what this is all about...
