esp, abs, bas
okay so my car e320 has been acting up lately. when i drive it, every now and then the lights esp, bas, abs all come on together. i tried to time it when they come on, and so far if i shut the car off and start it up again there are no lights on it, but after 6 miles sometimes 10 sometimes 20 sometimes 3 miles the 3 warning malfunctions show up. I cant find the reason or the issue, but ive noticed that it depends how im driving ( speed wise) like if im in the city then it comes on at low miles but if im on the high way it comes on later at higher miles traveled. time wise its about 20-40 minutes and it will come on ( thats the typical time it takes) other times it can be from 10-15 minutes. any one have any similar problems or maybe answers? really anything will help about now lol

E300 TD W210. Yamaha fzs600 ,
Other possibilities
Brake switch/Third brake light/Speed sensors, all these could interrupt the ESP/ABS/BAS system, then light will shows up...!!
*Brake switch

*Third brake light bulb
Attachment 288473
*Speed sensors

Pretty likely the above mentioned .
Other possibilities, loose or possessed fuse or fuse box connection
Or in my case I had a faulty stop switch and short circuit combo (lucky me huh )
When I replaced the stop switch my brake lights stayed on whenever ignition was on ... ( and I installed it correctly ....3 times )
Out came the VOM and some electrical checks confirmed little resistance between the 2 larger cables when switch was disconnected .
Found they had melted together with an ignition cable
The knowledge shared by the generous folks on this site was immeasurably useful

Start with the rear brake lights, with the car on and headlights on, step on the brakes and release and have someone check them, also take them out and see if the contacts on:
1-the rear light housing
2-the bulb socket(where it connects to the housing)
3-the bulb socket(where it connects to the bulb)
4-the bulb it self
is dirty, corroded or (insert forgotten word that means the has spots from electrical arcs)
clean all of them with 1000 or finer sand paper or steel wool
you can also put some solder on the socket contacts, i would do a DIY if requested

Waiting to see what happens to ur car
This is the brake sensor disassembly and fix (though i replaced mine after breaking it .
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ensor-fix.html
and thanx, limp mode was either caused by brake sensor or coffee spilled over gear module (which i cleaned quickly and sprayed wd-40), but had to be reset using star

bro's of the interwebs, i have solved my issue.
For some reason my steering wheel started leaning more and more the left... So i did what any normal human being could do, i got an alignment. Then the light turned on after the first .0000001 miles that i drove my car out the garage. I was like "mmmmmkay... this sucks even more" but after that day of driving at some point the warning lights went out, and no longer did i have a malfunction message showing up. I guess all i needed was an alignment, and my steering wheel came back into place ever since then i have driven 500+miles and i have never seen those warning lights come on or any malfunction messages come up.
