.... nothing to brag about, it is a previous model....
Audio50 does NOT play mp3, there is no engineering menu for you to play w/ neither. Unfortunately, there is also no Aux-in for this unit.
CD changer stop working is known issue before firmware upgrade. You can reset it by removing Fuse #6 for 2 min and plug it back in your trunk.

You ever figure out what was the issue? The EXACT thing happened to me this weekend. It gave me an 'audio error connection' error and stopped working. I turned it off and back on and now the "Magazine" is not even visible on the console. It's not recognizing the cd changer either(and the power seems off on the changer).

In the trunk on the left hand side (see #140 in diagram) , remove fuse #6 from rear SAM wait a minute or so, then replace. You will remove and restore power and as such clear a possible communication error:
- power-off head unit
- remove the key
- remove fuse #6 (inspect condition) for several minutes
- replace fuse
- insert your key and turn to position 1 (do power-on head unit)
- reset factory setting in your cluster (i.e.: outside temperature)
- power-on head unit
- power-off head unit
- remove the key
- remove fuse #6 (inspect condition) for several minutes
- replace fuse
- insert your key and turn to position 1 (do power-on head unit)
- reset factory setting in your cluster (i.e.: outside temperature)
- power-on head unit

How do I know if I already have the upgrade. Is there a version number present in the menu or something? Reason I am asking is because I just purchased it about 6 months ago and am wondering if the previous owner already upgraded.

I just got the same problem today. Took out fuse #6 and no luck... What is the problem? i got the same error message and the 6 CD changer is not illuminating. Do i need to replace the headunit? THanks in advance!

Open ashtray. Place the transmission in Neutral and gently pull up the wood trim from the front - (the piece on the console that meets the ashtray). Lift up gently place aside. Gently pull the ashtray straight up and out, and remove the connectors from the back. If you have Keyless-Go there will be two. Otherwise one. Set the ashtray aside. Locate the connectors for the UCP and CD-Changer and gently disconnect them on the bottom of the changer chassis. There will be three- a fiber connection, a UCP connection, and another changer connection. Then there will be a Torx screw underneath the CD-Changer compartment on each side. Remove the Torx screws and the changer will slide out.

Try
a battery reset of the car by removing the neg terminal and with the key out of the ignition step on the brake pedal for 30 seconds, then follow the resync procedure in the manual. This often wakes up the comm between the radio and the cd player. If you have problems reading mp3's in the changer build and burn a playlist in itunes if you have it installed on your computer. Those cd's burned in itunes play on almost every player I have encountered.

I dont know how you can tell other than giving your vin# to the dealership and having them find out if it was serviced for a CD issue. Other than that you'd have to take it to the dealer and get it uploaded. If i were you, i wouldn't let them charge me for it (at least not full price). I had a a similar problem where it wouldnt play the cd's at all. Bought into the dealership the next week for something else also, and they told me i needed the upgrade for the stereo. It was under warranty then. Have NEVER had a problem since then (about 2 years).

Hi Guys,
I have a W211, e class european version, the other week I left my parking light on and the car was parked for 3 days.... the battery died, had it charged from my wife's car and it went on fine but had the windows, seats and ESP not function properly, did the reset for the windows, sunroof and seats, turned the steering wheel for the ESP, but my Nav command doesnt work anymore, neither the CD changer button, the command doesnt have a light and doesnt switch on... anybody have a solution for this... is there anywhere i should check..?

Will not accept CD
I removed all 6 CD's and attempted to load the "Command" navigation update.
When I push the "load" button the screens tells me to load a CD.
When I attempt to load it will not accept the CD. It is as if a door is closed and physically prevents its loading.
It is a 2009 E320
Any ideas?

CD Error Problems
Our 2008 E350 has had on and off a "CD Error" message appearing from the single CD player which wasn't working. The multi CD changer works fine. We don't play CDs anymore, we simply use a MIDI player connected to the old Ipod cable in the glove compartment and play our music from our phones. The CD Error message is annoying, however. It was fixed by removing fuse #26 by the compartment near the driver's door for 10 minutes, then putting it back. The player made some noise, then gave one last CD Error Message and no more after that. Hope it works for others with the same problem; the Dealer, of course wanted to replace the entire Command Unit for $2,000 saying it could not be fixed or the message stopped.
