Cool project. Are you concerned the net result is going to be a car that looks like it's in primer?

Where the direct sun hits it, like in the top pic, there's more sheen than you'd get with primer and that's a unique, finished look. But on the side view, where it's out of direct sunlight it looks to me like it's waiting to go into the paint booth. Maybe just me. It's just a wrap so worst case scenario you could just peel it off. I think a more charcoal metallic matte might get it clearly out of primer territory. Let's see what the other guys think...

Hmmm, Looks a lot like multiple coats of primer with a matte finish. It must be kinda fun to put that stuff on and change the color of your car. How much did that cost in materials?

To do it right, like the OP is, it's a big job in terms of labor. They have to de badge everything, remove trim, lamps, etc and disassemble some panels to get the material behind the pieces.

Depends on the weather
My buddy does it, who did my wrap on my diffuser. It's definitely time consuming. He wraps whole cars and basically disassembles them to do it and then puts it back together.

Does it damage the original finish? Perhaps it is a good alternative to an aftermarket paint job on a vehicle that has had it's finish see better days? I guess it is also available in any color and gloss level? How does it hold up to stones and other debris?

It peels off clean. It's possible to damage the finish during install if they're not careful trimming excess material and leave little nicks or razor marks on the paint.
