V12 TT cats , or no cats?

Does removing the cats on a V12 Twin Turbo increase power or the opposite effect? exhaust shop says not to! but some people on here have done. Interested to know ?

I heard somewhere it will only add top end power and lag when the turbos should kick in, making the turbos harder to boot up at 2000-3000rpm?

Typically on a turbocharged engine, the less backpressure you have the better the car will perform. However, you still want to maximize exhaust velocity to get the air out of the way. If you have poor velocity, it can hurt the power. The exhaust is not large enough on the SL for that to happen.

I'm not giving you advice or advising you to remove your cats without a disclaimer:
Your results may vary.
Your local government may frown on your plans to remove the catalytic converter.
Removing your cats may cause check engine lights.
The extra power may cause additional wear on your tires.
The power may cause extra wear on your driveline components.
Additional power may cause addiction to even more power.
You may effect the value of your car.
There may be other issues beyond those that I've listed.
I am not personally responsible for what you do to your car or the advice given.
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, increased heart rate, and blood pressure can all arise from the increased power.

lol ^ cheeky , hey theres a difference of plugging something into your car and your up for $5000 immediately ! compared to putting an exhaust that will add increased power , i.e. all the above. Really many people before me have also had the same experience its not like I'm the only person who is saying this. Anyway , moving forward so what your saying is that it would not really help in my case ? or it would increase gains? little confused the exhaust shop is saying something similar to you, but many members on here are doing it and an experienced tuner also claims it will add. Hmmm

Downpipes and cat removal should boost power. I'm running metal cell cats on mine with Speedriven downpipes. The power you gain from removing the cats is not worth the pollution it creates. Just get ones that flow much better.

too late already removed them out, better breathing for the engine I agree definitely , although sounds so tinny. Now I just need to find a way to try get rid of that horrible sound
