Who built my engine?
How do I find out the name of the guy who signed the engine from the signature plate?

Maybe Andreas Kawula? Check the link

The "l" in his last name is very distinct.

INSIDER -> People of AMG -> Master Mechanics
You can then manually look through the animation of the video posted above zoom in and it will tell you the name of each signature.
And by the way, my engine was built by the same guy as yours. His full name is:
Andreas Kawula

Re: Engine Signature
Mine became much easier to read after gently applying a little car wax to the signature block on a COLD engine. Just wipe it on, wait 5 minutes, wipe it off.
I think mine got faded due to a couple of years in Florida heat, it has been like new for the past 6 months since I did the wax.
