Cracked fuel tank / smell - Ignored by dealer technician Miami
Just wanted to hare my experience at the Coral Gables Dealer in Miami
I have a small crack on the upper portion of the fuel tank, went to the dealer just curious if they would fix it which I figured that they wouldn't, when I asked him if it was a recall he didn't even bother asking me what model or year my car was before saying no. The moment I mentioned recall he dismissed me right away.
This is a big safety issue and I hate having to fix something that was a design flaw by Mercedes.
If anyone has any idea whats the best way to fix this please let me know, I think I might just have to replace it

If you regularly service your car here I would see if they will help you with this repair. There is no recall or even service bulliten for this problem.

The cheapest way would be to remove your fuel tank and apply silicone to the outer edge of the fuel pressure sensor (located on the top of the fuel tank it will have a line connected to it that is a pita to remove) other thank that you'll have to replace the tank. I'd highly recommend Mercedes silicone for this.

We had this issue and the dealer ignored it until after 3 yeArs it want just on a full tank and was wreaking inside the car as well. They replaced the tank. But, months later, the fuel pump in it failed in the middle lane of the 101fwy. At night for 30 minutes, stalled with 70 mph trucks rushing up on us and thankfully all were able to avoid us. Four years later, it's wreaking in the garage in a full tank AGAIN. Google it. It is a known issue.

For the people who are going in to get the pumps replaced under the warranty but are being told 'no'. Get that in writing.
Have them sign something saying they will not do the work, for what ever reason. Have it correctly dated. Make two copies. One for you, one to give to MBUSA and the other to the transport mob to show the warranty isn't being extended/offered/given.
That's my train of thought at least.
