Talked to my parts guy at DTLA Mercedes and they just got the memo on the 31st . I sent them the one listed here on the 30th and my parts guy called back on the 31st and said they just got the letter.
I do alot of business with them out of the shop I work out of and talk to them 4 times a day. so good news it's starting to hit their desks

My CEL came on this morning. I popped by my Independent and he diagnosed the fuel leak. He wanted $1300 to fix it. Came on here and did a little search and found this... Made my appointment at the dealer for Monday!

Well, my SBC went out today with a few days to spare on the warranty, so at the same time taking a shot at getting my leaking tank fixed simultaneously. Crossing my fingers.

Never filled up my fuel tank fully until recently to test if it smells or not. Sure enough it does and so I went by Mercedes Greenway in Houston but they know nothing about the settlement.

What the local dealer is telling me is that I will most likely have to call MB directly myself to get them to honor the new warranty. We'll see what happens.

This place is a joke.
No official word from MBUSA to the dealers yet. Maybe they will drag this on even longer. It's really sad to see the direction MB has taken over the last several years.

It's moving slow but one dealer as posted here got the memo, I'm sure more did as well. They have to honor the settlement or it will get worse for mbusa

Yeh I'm not really worried about it. I used a different service rep today. Showed him the info online from my phone and he says he is positive the service manager will allow for the repair. And he hooked me up with my first eclass loaner, usually I get c300 or ml. I'm pretty happy with the experience at my dealer

Holloway MB in Manchester, NH
Just dropped my 07 E63 off at Holloway MB in Manchester, NH, and they had no idea of the warranty extension either. I showed them the letter, and they thanked me for it and said it helps, but still have to call their rep for confirmation to get the work approved, etc. I am wondering if this problem is largely on the AMG models only, hence why the dealers aren't seeing all E class 211 cars flooding in with this problem. Our 05 E320 with 200k has never had any of these problems, then again, its never had an SBC issue either.

dealers will be notified of the process early this month. mb will be sending letters to everyone at the end of this month starting with 2003 and 2004. the later years will follow after. still no word on the reimbursement process but that information should come anytime.

That's gonna be a lot of letters

I need to be reimbursed 2x on the E55. approx $950 first time to replace both 2011, and most recently at my indy i spend about the same for the second repair and towing since i was stranded 100 miles from home. Both on my dime!!!

They will be mailing letters to all E class owners at the end of the month according the MBUSA CS line. I spoke the words of "gas tank leak" and was immediately transferred to MBUSA. If you just purchased your E55 make sure MBUSA has your correct information updated.

My local dealer hasn't heard of anything yet and said it needs to be listed on my VMI first before they do any repairs. So I guess its another waiting game.

I called mbusa and the rep I talked to said there wouldn't be any notifications sent to individuals and that I would need to either call back or check with the dealer...sounds like mb needs to get their **** straight.

Ok guys I did a live chat with mbusa customer service.
It's clear that they are running late but it's gonna get done.
Also they don't refer to it as the settlement, they call it a warranty extension so maybe try that at the dealerships lol
Here we go.....
*Me: Hi, I would like to know if there will be letters sent out for the recent settlement mbusa made with the nhtsa about the fuel tank and pump issue*
*
Olivia C.: Thank you for your question. I'm unsure of a settlement however I am aware that beginning later this month there will be a letter sent out regarding a warranty extension for certain parts.*
*
Me: Yes that is probably it and about reimbursement since I paid to have it repaired as well*
*Me: *Do you need my address?*
*
Olivia C.: There will be information in the letter regarding reimbursement as well.*
*
Olivia C.: It is identified via the Vehicle Identification Number.*
*
Olivia C.: Would you happen to have yours so I can ensure we have the information on file correctly?*
*Me: What do you need , my vin?*
*Olivia C.: Yes please.*
*
Me:*Ok, 1 sec*
*
Olivia C.: Certainly*
Me: Xxxxxxxxxxx
*
Olivia C.: Ok to confirm, this is a 2005 E55?*
*
Me: Correct*
*
Olivia C.: Great. If I can have your primary mailing address and telephone number please to update.*
*
Me: xxxxxxxxxx
*
Olivia C.: Thank you. That zip comes up as Xxxxx, was that ok?*
*
Me: Correct*
*
Olivia C.: Wonderful, so our systems are now updated.*
*
Me: So when will these letters go out?*
*
Olivia C.: As long as the vehicle is involved, you should be receiving a letter.*
*
Olivia C.: Starting at the end of the month. I'm unsure if they will all be sent out at once or in waves.*
*
Me: Ok*
*Me: Thanks !*
*
Olivia C.: You're welcome! Have a good day!*

Yep. Close friend bought one last week. It is now not getting fuel. We went to MB of Sugarland and they have not heard about any warranty extension yet. I guess its a waiting game for a month with a Mercedes that doesn't run. :/

So do you have to call into MBUSA customer service if your dealer doesn't recognize the fuel leak settlement? I'm sure quite a few people are waiting for the bulletin to hit their dealers.

No you don't have to call in , the letters should be hitting the dealers this month and the letters to the owners will be going out at the end of the month with instructions for reimbursements as well.
