Mobil Jet Oil 2

I got lucky, my work uses it. However I went to the Mobil distributor here and they also sell it... By the box only. If you're lucky try the distributor, I've got grease from them for free before as a box had split open and they couldn't sell it individually. Never know your luck.

I've purchased os in the past. Coincidentally immediately afterwards when I was changing sc oil a friend came past and was surprised to see I was using Jet Oil II as he had randomly found a dozen cans at the tip and was wondering what to do with them! I grabbed a couple off him but unfortunately didn't bring them with me when moving from interstate! Would have come in handy because as it turns out I currently need some again.

E55, Mazda CX9
I got two tins delivered by www.lubesdirect.com.au $23 each, the guy said he would post to us E55 owners in AUS if they show proof of ownership, you have to sign for it, it's something to do with its aero status. They will also do 20L of Mobil 1.
I went to pull the old oil and there was none coming out (on a slope) , I filled it (on the flat) with as much as 60% of a tin. I'll be changing it again in a week.
Just goes to show first thing you should do is change all the fluids when you buy a used car.

This thread has heaps of good tips and discussion on sc oil refilling.

Does the manual mention anything about brand?
Am guessing it comes from the same company, just in a different container. And if there is any difference in the recipe it is so small as to be of no significance.
If one opts for jet oil you will probably need to visit the local airport fbo to find it.

Thanks for the info! The dealer sold me the wrong stuff so I just ordered the Mobil and will return the other stuff.

good idea. the merc stuff is actually rebadged GM oil since the c230 has an eaton (American) supercharger on it that is completely different from the ihi charger found on the 55s. The eaton oil is not compatible with the ihi and you need the mobile jet oil 2.

really the only way to for sure get all oil out is to take the charger off, drain it, then take off the front case and wipe everything down. that's what i did, but i was taking my charger off anyways to put on a different snout for a larger TB and regrease the rear bearings.

top side oil changes — no jacking up the car, removing the under skirt to prevent its foam from the oil. Drain, lowing the car the last 1/2 qt can drain, jacking up the car again, reinstall plug and skirt. Refill.
