Can someone help me out???? Look in these pics at the rims, why does the lip of most aftermarket rims stick out past the tires. Factory rims sit flush with the tire and the tires typically bulge or roll out past the rim edge. As in the above pics, you can see on the rears the edge of the rims are out past the edge of the tire slightly and/or there is a gap between the rim edge and the bead of the tire. Honestly I personally think it ruins the set up. I really want to go with HRE's or maybe Forgestar or Vossens but hate that lip tire issue. E63 factories are nice so happy for now.

Because these wheels are wider than factory wheels, but the amount of tire that can fit under the fender is limited

Completely understand that, but..... for the most part almost every aftermarket wheel I see the lip sticks out from the tire (not like any factory wheel does). It would seem if you took a really hard turn the lip of the wheel would actually hit the ground due to the tire flexing under it. I am all for getting wheels, but that keeps me from doing it. Not all people get wider rims than they (need, should have??????). Trying to understand thats all. Makes me wiser ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I don't like the stretched look neither but unfortunately I like to buy parts used to save money. this set of HRE above has a 10.5 rear with 275 tires and if I could I would fit wider tires but due to aggressive offset if I go any bigger it would rub. my other set up the 360forged has 10 rear with 285 tires and it fits the same but it has the proper meaty look like stock.
it all depends on offset... my vossen set up is also a 10.5 rear but I can fit 285 / 295 even 305s.

Something to keep in mind is vehicle performance in cornering when tires are stretched. And of course safety when too much stretched.

I might as well contribute.
Rohana RC10 20x10 20x11
Daily driven. How? haha….. rolled, stretched and pulled fenders.
Worth it? nope lol![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
But at least it doesn't rub….

Thx!
20x10 33ET 20x11 28ET WARNING! This will rub unless you pull and stretch your fenders…OR you buy a camber kit.
I also installed a camber kit originally before any fender work in order to run the set up. The camber was way to aggressive and i went through tires fast(But no rub)
So i went ahead and did fender work and re-adjusted camber and alignment back to stock with no issues.
Please feel free to ask any questions… No secrets here
