Would You Pay $300k for Two Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140s?

Well, here’s an interesting sales pitch when it comes to an auction listing a Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140.

Apparently, the seller was offering up not one, but two W140 Mercedes sedans. But it was the $300,000 asking price for both that really has us most puzzled.

According to a Car Scoops report, the bidding has since ended, so we aren’t actually sure if someone took him up on the offer. Although, the low mileage on the sedans certainly made the proposal interesting.

The cars offered were a black 1992 600SEL with 1,499 miles and a white 1994 400SE with just 275 miles on the odometer.

In addition to the cost, there’s also the question of who would actually be in the market to buy a pair of ’90s Mercedes sedans. Then again, we guess if you happen to own some kind of private chauffeur company, buying two at once might make sense.

That still, however, doesn’t address the wilder issue of someone actually asking $300K for the two cars, especially when they are listed separately for so much cheaper on most other sites.
