RENNtech's 700hp CLS63 Gets Driven By Matt Farah
700hp. Let that sink in for a second. For comparison, the average, run-of-the-mill CLS 500 makes 400hp. Even when AMG gets their hands on it, they only see fit to tune it to a “measly” 520hp. RENNtech takes the already blisteringly fast AMG model, decides that it’s not fast enough, throws in bigger turbos and cranks the boost until it hits around 700hp. They’re shooting for 800.

Matt Farah, host of the The Smoking Tire, describes the car as a “rolling burnout factory.” That’s enough to get us interested, but to just pass the car off as a simple exercise in power would be to ignore Renntech’s heritage. You see, the technical director of RENNtech is none other than Hartmut Feyhl. That name probably isn’t familiar, but The Hammer probably is. Feyhl was the AMG engineer who built that car. He worked with them for 12 years before setting out to build his own cars based on AMG’s already epic vehicles. That company is RENNtech, and they turn AMGs into beasts.

The result is this loud, non-discreet, brutally fast car. It might not be the Hammer, but we’re certain it hits like a sledge. We’re putting this one in our dream garage right next to Brabus’ Bullit.
